Quoted: It's almost impossible for a woman to make it in Hollywood and NOT be a hottie. Attractive women have always been a thing there. As far as doing more with their hotness I'd say the mid 80s to early 90s were the most free with nudity, so that's probably the best era for me. View Quote Ma Kettle/Mary Tomlinson |

Quoted: thats very interesting. I knew that major advanced in plastic surgery occurred after WW1, but I was under the impression it didn't become mainstream until the late 50's-70's but.. these women were far from average. they were on another level. View Quote Mainstream for the peasant class, sure. Hollywood ruled their cattle with an iron fist though and dictated literally everything in their lives. And they weren't any different than our modern-day Hollywood royalty. Just like back then, the A-listers today are blessed with better genetics than the average person but also, just like back then, have every trick at their disposal to utilize to make themselves appear *on another level.* I used to watch American Idol and at one point they give all the contestants makeovers. After that point it's funny to go back and watch their audition videos and see how they went from looking like every kid you went to high school with to bonafide celebrities. All due to stylists, hair and makeup artists, and nutritionists/diet pill pushers.....then down the road, plastic surgery. Attached File Attached File Attached File |

Ma Kettle/Mary Tomlinson I did a job in Hollywood setting up a UC system and had to work in a Telecom building in Studio City back in 07. The Telcom hut was about 100' feet from the front gate in next to the drive into the campus. The customer told us that between 10am and 1pm on Tuesday we needed to be sitting on the bench right outside the telecom shack and not move. I asked why and he said that's when open casting call is and when everyone who wants to be an actor comes in and tries out for bit parts in sitcoms and other shows that were on at the time, they filmed That 70s show and CSI N.Y there. He told some of hottest women will pass by the building on their way to auditions. Holy smokes he was not effing kidding, for 3 hours it was a complete smoke show of absolute babes walking by on their way for an audition! Me and my colleague didn't move from that bench for 3 hours. |

The modern breast implant really didn't show up until the early '60s. Up until then, a woman had to depend upon good wardrobe if she wasn't gifted by God with good genetics. Until then, many of those actresses did not have anything more than a B or small C cup. But they looked great.
Hollywood relied a lot on padding. That was the era that gave up the horrible torpedo bra. Fake tits really ruined the looks of lots of actresses. Style, posture, and poise were replaced by volume. |

That was the era that gave up the horrible torpedo bra. Fake tits really ruined the looks of lots of actresses. Style, posture, and poise were replaced by volume. View Quote The first known breast implant was in 1887, using tissue from the patient’s opposite breast. This was further expanded in 1893, but abandoned shortly thereafter because tissue loss to the recipient was significant. Paraffin injections began around 1889 with good short term results but in the long term, resulted in significant medical issues. Subsequently, in the early 1900s various substances were placed in the breast: rubber, glass, ivory, sponges and even foam. These materials proved to be failures and were abandoned. In the 1950s and 1960s silicone injections increased in popularity especially after WWII. Free liquid silicone was injected into the breast, but over time severe complications arose, requiring mastectomy. Breast implants as we know them today comprise a firm outer silicone shell and silicone gel interior. This new concept was derived in the 1950s from a urological implant and prompted the development of the new form of breast implants in 1963. This, largely developed by Dow Corning, was termed the first generation breast implant. Jesus Christ, they used glass. |

Quoted: I don’t know about your date range. Not a lot of actresses (any?) from the 1910-1940 range that appeal to me. The Silent Era actresses just looked silly, and when they transitioned to Talkys you found out just how awful their voices sounded. If you’re going all the way to 1960, then I choose 1950s Sofia Loren. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/18447/9B980B3B-18D0-40BF-9438-65D7A7D5D538_jpe-2280153.JPGhttps://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/18447/9BEE3D62-969C-472B-B5CF-4B80C6B50DA3_jpe-2280154.JPGhttps://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/18447/408D47C9-405D-4D19-885C-031C14597DEE_jpe-2280158.JPG View Quote I met her once, she was hot as an old lady too, lol. |
