When I was in the USAR, I didn't really know anything about the 83rd's history. I didn't learn about the 83rd Infantry Division until years later, the WW2 history of the unit is very interesting (I think). I've become something of an 83rd ID buff since then. I'm proud to have been able to wear that patch. I think the 83rd ARCOM is all but defunct now. |

They were "radio research". Most of them were assigned to the 509th Radio Research Group and then attached to the various divisions and groups through out the country. |
