Please... ![]() FDT is plenty electable, AND will not try to take our guns. |
there are plenty of gun owners who also support rudy... ![]() |
and they need to WAKE THA HELL UP! but when it comes from a firearms manufacturer it comes across as far worse. Romneys on record as supporting an AWB..his record in the state he governed also speaks volumes. Alex has left us all scratching our heads wondering WTF |
You're right, bro. It's quite clear that Robarms is supporting Romney over his stance on semi-automatic rifles exactly like the ones Robarms manufactures. |
|
Ding ding ding. |
It's not about seperating politics from product. He stated that the money he recieves will help support romney. The same Romney that just 2 weeks ago said he wanted to ban the XCR
|
I guess Alex has never lived in MA pre and post Romney. Good luck with future business.
|
|
Well, he's Fooked. In the other thread he answered a few questions after a few minutes, then said he's going to get Romney's campaign manager in on the thread. The Pirhana are circling.., don't think there's going to be a way to softly extricate himself from this. Mixing your politics and personal business has never been smart, I wish it wasn't such a big deal with Robinson. He stated in the other thread that he feels Romney is the only electable choice that can do anything for our gun rights. Whether that's damage control or not is anyone's guess, but the damage is done. |
Here's a clue: This thread didn't just spontaneously erupt because either of them are Mormons. It exploded because a gun manufacturer is supporting the candidacy of a gun-grabber. |
Bullshit, even Bill Richardson is less of a gun-grabbing asshole. As for the Republican candidates, only Guiliani and Mitt are gun grabbers. I think you need to pay better attention. |
|
I'm not reacting this way because Romney or Robinson are Mormon, Jewish, Catholic, African, Asian, or Christian. I'm reacting this way because Romney's a gun-grabber and Robinson, a gun manufacturer, is supporting him. |
And sadly isn't doing that hot in the polls. Believe me, I say that with ZERO pleasure. |
The fact that he has immediate access to the campaign manager speaks volumes, too. It certainly won't help matters. |
|
I just watched the interview.. My guess is that Romney is a professional liar like most politicians, and voted for the AWB because he thought it would be the 'safest' thing to do. For that, he deserves to be bounced out on his ass. But is it worth destroying Robinson because he bought into his line of bull? |
|
About the only good that I can see coming out of this is that the gun-owning base will see who Romney is (and Rudy, and the others) and hopefully back FDT. That is, of course, if they can stop ignoring Ron Paul's stupid positions on the war and foreign policy long enough. ![]() It's really a shame. We've got three unabashed socialists running for the DNC ticket, and on our side we have two "Republicans" who managed to win elections in the most liberal states in the union, a media whore, a moonbat, and one regular guy with a pretty reasonable track record. ...and no one seems to want to support the last guy. |
I despise the knee-jerk reactions, but at the same time you have to stop and wonder. In the meantime, I'm holding on to my XCR, and if I can find an M96 Recon someplace, I'm going to grab it. I will also not be discarding my Leatherman tools, either, nor ditching my Mac.... |
Never happen. Gun manufacturers read the polls, and they all want to be on the winning team, if they do choose sides at all. Support-the-Second-Amendment-at-all-costs attitudes like Ronnie Barrett's are the exception among gun makers, not the rule. Most will gladly support whoever appears to be the winner, which IMHO is what RobArms is doing with Romney. I'm a Fred supporter but I've been pretty disgusted by his lackadaisical attitude towards the campaign. He'd better start ramping things up or he'll be gone by the end of January. I guess it's still possible for him to come from behind at the last minute, but it's not very likely. |
And who is that going to hurt other than HER? ![]() You've already paid ROBARM for the rifle. You may as well keep it. But if you insist, I'll tell you what, I'll give you $100 for the worthless POS. ![]() (The rifle, not the wife. )
|
Dave, if Robarms continues to support Romney how can it possibly be anyone else's fault if the company takes a nose-dive? Robarms is pissing down his customer-base's back and telling them it's raining! |
So I take it that you guys are going to sit out the general election? Because it's pretty obvious your favored candidate isn't going to win the nomination. |
| did any of you actually read the robinson arms reasons for supporting Romney, this or are you just bashing Mormons and slinging the s.o.s. ? |
![]() You're right. That archaic First Amendment has outlived its usefulness. Just when I think this thread is becoming more rational, someone comes along and posts something like that.... |
|
|
Wow, I've never heard of Robinson Arms but it sounds like I haven't missed anything except someone else willing to throw us under the bus. Good riddance. Does a representative of the company appear anywhere in this thread? I'd be curious to read their justification of such foolishness. |
Hey, if you want to go ahead and destroy the man, go ahead. Yes it was incredibly stupid for him to endorse Romney, but put yourself in his place: Doug, I know you are a religious man. With most people who are serious about their religion, their version of God's Law, their version of Creation, their version of How It Is Supposed To Be trumps just about any man-made law that ever could be. If your religion had been a minority, and you were in Robinson's shoes, I'd bet that you'd support him too if he came to you and promised you the moon in return for your support. Maybe Robinson's just naive.., dunno, but I personally don't think he deserves a lynch mob. Maybe he never paid much attention to Romney's past politics, maybe he never saw his AWB vote and his subsequent affirmation that it was something he supports. ETA: Blind faith in an ideal is what leads mankind down the path to destruction. Pride is what keeps us there. |
If you go back to Robinsons's statement and substitute "Guiliani" for "Romney" it becomes obvious that RobArms is picking the candidate whom he believes will be the one with the best chance of beating Hillary. Did religion affect his decision? Obviously, at the very least he identifies more with Romney because of it. But it's entirely possible for a Mormon to support Romney because of the issues, just as it is possible for a Mormon (such as myself) to not support Romney because of the issues. I don't deny religion may be a factor here. But you have to take Robinson's statemnet at face value. If he wasn't LDS it would be obvious to everyone that he's following the "lesser of the two evils" strategy, one that everyone here will be forced to follow in November unless Fred starts pulling rabbits out of his hat. What bothers Shane and I isn't the bashing of Robinson or Romney, it's the idiotic assumption that "us Mormons" stick together by force of some secret conspiracy or code and that we're incapable of thinking for ourselves. |
Yes I did read it. I have also posted in the other thread. My view is simple and still hasn't been answered. 1. OK he supported target pistol shooters----He still banned guns ("assault weapons") in MA. I see this as hey ban guns make the anti's happy and then flip to supporting target shooters so I can claim to be pro gun ala Kerry going hunting... once. 2. If Alex as an individual supports Romney great that is his choice as an individual no problems from me. When he throws the weight of his company behind it then I will not support that company. Remember Smith and Wesson under the Clintons? If there had not been a back lash against them how many other companies would have caved in to avoid law suits? |
Thanks for your post. |
Friend, we all are a product of the choices we make. Companies are subject to this natural law as well. When a company makes decisions that result in a bigger customer base and more sales, that company will be healthy and robust. When a company makes decisions that result in a smaller customer base and less sales...then the inverse applies. It's just a simple matter of cause = effect. Alex is more than free to support his candidate of choice. Thankfully, it is his right as an American to do so. However, as a businessman it is very dangerous to involve your company in any effort that will most assuredly piss off your customer base. He should have known this and made his choices accordingly. He didn't. Whatever happens from this point on can only be attributed to his actions, the those of his customers. Personally, I don't care about his religion or if he eats the Breakfast of Mormons. |
If after being alerted to the facts that Romney is a gun grabber and he still supports him, then he absolutely does deserve a lynch mob. Reading his thread it appears he is sticking his fingers in his ears and ignoring the facts. So be it. |
I agree... again, what did leatherman do? dusty, please don't tell me you want me to sell my xcr... I loves it |

Yup!
