As far as rum goes, I like Sailor Jerry's. Sweet nectar of the molasses sea. Strong for rum though @ 100 proof.

Can be hard to find but Kilo Kai is cheap and is excellent with sprite or ginger ale.

Richland Rum made in….Richland Georgia. They grow their own sugar cane to make it with.
Not cheap. |

You could do a lot worse and pay a lot more than Captain Morgan.
Main thing about rum is Spiced and the darker can be very deceptive, and aren't necessarily "better". I'm not a concourse, but it is easily looked up. We live in marvelous times. Happy Shopping. |

I'm not a rum guy, but when I buy rum it is Meyer's Dark. A little harsh, but has a great flavor( I use it mostly in eggnog, sweet cream type beverages, and for baking- it can't be beat). A friend of mine who drinks rum regularly swears by Bicardi 8.
