A terrible emergency happened today at one of the private enterprises of Naberezhnye Chelny on the BSI, along Profilnaya street. The worker, who was standing behind the machine, was pulled into the equipment and turned several times. The creepy video from the scene was at the disposal of Chelny-biz.ru, but for ethical reasons, the publication does not publish it. The footage shows how a man approaches the machine and begins to sharpen the part, bends down (something probably went wrong), two or three seconds pass and his body ends up in a “meat grinder”. The equipment turned it over several times and literally shredded it into small pieces, the workshop was covered with blood. The production apparatus was stopped by another worker who was a few meters away from the incident and worked with his back to a colleague. The man felt bad when he saw that there was no living place left of the victim. Investigative bodies are working on the spot. Details of the incident are being investigated. I'll watch a lot of messed up videos - but not machinery videos. I work around them all day every day and know that you have to be on your game at all times.

Big ass lathes and PTO shafts get my utmost respect and attention.
I'm still alive. |
At first, I thought, that’s not too bad, his arm is kinda mangled, but he’ll be ok. Then..... not so much.
Oh man, you could see that coming from a mile away.
Not sure how he got so complacent. |
God bless. Ugh.... poor dude. I’m sure he had a few seconds of dread there, then lights out.
Somebody get a mop. |
Yeah, screw that. 15 years of working on machinery and I still have all my fingers and shit. This is why you can't get comfortable.

In mother Russia, lathe turns you
But seriously, that was horrific. Could have been avoided. |

Damn, you expect this shit from Chinese factories, but not Russian ones.
Sad thing is, there’s another (much longer) video out there with the same tragic ending.
I probably would have hit the off switch, left, and never gone back. Not sticking around if I witnessed that.

In HS we had machine shop and learned how to work around a lathe. No one got injured, safety first

Okay watched the vid now.
God damn. That was, like, pieces EVERYWHERE! Factory P.A. System: "Yuri! Bring mop and bucket! For make clean up on factory floor! Bring shovel, too!" |
When he first got stuck I'm sure he yelled for help and thought, this sucks and hurts, but at least I am aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
That was terrible. |
