[ARCHIVED THREAD] - SIG can't get a break. Another one! (Page 3 of 4)
|
Quoted: Is it known if it was a light bearing holster? I would LOVE to see a stat on all the NDs of 320s in light bearing holsters vs no light holsters. Lots of extra room in the light bearing holsters. There's no question that the P320 is less safe in that regard, as they, unlike virtually every other comparable gun, don't have a trigger safety. The bigger question is, will it also go off if the trigger is not pulled? AKA Sig shake awake trigger. And it seems the answer in a lot of Sigcidents, potentially including this one, is yes. |
|
My 320s sit unused - I really think Sig needs to address the issue with some type of fix, even if don't think it is an issue, it is has gotten too big now to ignore. If they do, it will blow over eventually, and we will remember this as when Sig took forever to admit to a problem and issue a recall/fix, vs what it is now with people vowing not to buy sig. Sig still makes great guns. Love it or hate it, as far as micro CWP pistols, the 365 was an innovation, and no one else did it right first, despite the fact that Glock would have swept the market if they had. It is still a best seller. size + capacity + modularity + let the user decide if they want a manual safety. A less obvious win would be the 365 Macro, Glock 19 sized with more capacity and a thinner grip, also modular. These 365 derivations are everywhere, even those folks who are not "gun folks" have a 365 or 2 around. And maybe living on its laurels, but the 226/229 are great, I don't think anyone would dispute that. |

Quoted: Edited Go take a P320 and jar it, smack it, drop it, do everything you can to make the striker slip. Be sure to film it and share it. If you can get it to slip, you can show everyone the exact conditions. If it could be done, someone would've shown it already. Additionally, your genius engineering mind is forgetting about the striker safety that moves in the opposite direction needed for the sear to slip. Looks to me like she probably jammed the pistol down. It would bet she had a foreign object stuck in the holster, it would push the pistol down against it, pulling the trigger. Quoted: Quoted: As a Machinist and Mechanical Engineer. These guns go off by themselves because they use a pre cocked striker making the trigger pull lighter and dont have enough sear engagement and just jiggling the damn thing makes it go off. There is a reason Glock pistols are so safe. They require a long trigger pull to physcially pull back the striker to a designated point building up enough spring tension to fire the primer. These P320s I said from the beginning are going to be a problem. Some General at the Pentagon got kick backs from SIG to adopt this garbage pistol. We already know the exact conditions that perch the striker on a false sear, and it's on video being shaken off. We also know that in some guns the striker safety moves not only w/ the trigger - but w/ the sear. 18:29 - there it is: ![]() It ND's Today People are getting seriously injured. One policeman just lost a testicle to this bullshit. |

Quoted: Dude the P226s are fine. Honestly. I own 6 of them. But you couldnt give me a 320. Or id make it a boat anchor. Quoted: Quoted: Keep in mind, most of them are making money off these video's. The video has to last a certain length (10 minutes? 15? something like that.) in order to even be qualified for monetization. Also why a lot of mash up videos are that length, you already have a bunch of clips and you put 30 of them in a 15 minute video with some breaks for you talking and there you go. And yes, Sig fucking sucks not coming out by now and taking responsibility. I've always wanted a 226 but no way am I paying sig for one now. Dude the P226s are fine. Honestly. I own 6 of them. But you couldnt give me a 320. Or id make it a boat anchor. Ill use and carry a P226 every day. Attached File My only P320 is now just a range toy. I put too much in it to sell it. And I like how it shoots. But it’s an early model and not worth the risk. Attached File |

Quoted: Has anyone more research been done to the claim of 10mm/45acp takedown levers into the 9mm pistols being a contributing factor? Also the incorrectly reassembled pistols? The wrong takedown safety lever will allow insertion of the mag when the 320 is not reassembled by SIG's procedure. This places the striker on a false sear, ie, the sear is not in it's normal location. This is the only path to a false sear and thus shake awake behavior that has been found so far. There may be others, but this is the most likely explanation for the relatively few # of incidents. It would be VERY easy to fix w/ a recall. |

Quoted: There's still a few but it's amazing how many have gone silent. I remember when you couldn't say anything bad about SIG without getting dogpiled. LOL trash guns. Quoted: Quoted: This whole Sig P320 debacle has exposed who the shills are, it's been great. There's still a few but it's amazing how many have gone silent. I remember when you couldn't say anything bad about SIG without getting dogpiled. LOL trash guns. I remember people getting pissy when anything bad was said as recently as a year ago. We had a sig influencer bro right here on the forum. SIG doxxed a forum member at their employer. Recently, they had the audacity to change the manual but won't admit there is something wrong...STILL. The totality of the situation doesn't paint a pretty picture. What a trash company. |
![]() SIG 320 discharge to groin OUCH!!!! “BALL ammo”! |

Thinking that the P320 is coming from the P250 line ; which was not a great seller.. They chose poorly for an inspiration for the P320 design. That P250 did not sell well, and was still pricy despite the innovative FCU, which promised cheaper mods. I still like my SIGs.. I have a SP2022 which is SIG' s last hammer poly gun, and P239 Tactical which is SIG's last small tactical pistol. So it follows ~~ it ends today ~~ trend... |

So, where does all this end up ? Does sig get sued in to oblivion when they find a customer who is not willing to settle in court ? Do they lose the gov contracts ? Or do they have enough physical cash to keep the proper palms greased and victim customers settlements flowing ? Do they ever regain the reputation they once had by not making anymore shitty manufacturing decisions? Will they stop making eager customers hungry for new products their beta testers ? Will they ever continue supporting a product for more than 3 years ? It is a shame that sig in America has just continued to shit the bed in the job they had, and were damn good at! Have had plenty of sig products, P220 Elite, P226, P556, and a few others over the years. But I guess classic made sigs will be the only ones to buy. Same with all of the new “bring backs”, none of the nostalgia guns produced today live up to the originals. |

Granted I don’t follow this all with bated breath, but I don’t recall hearing many if any reports of anyone in the military getting shot by their own SIG. Nor any civilians. Genuinely curious if there is a higher percentage of LEO self shootings per hour of carry vs military or civilian. And is it higher for men or women? |

but p320s cant fire by themselves i thought? are you sure it was a p320? sig has clearly stated it cant go off by itself. probably was wrapped in a gym towel and thrown against concrete is why it did that. no other explanation. sig said it ended today like many days ago so its ended right, were safe? |

Quoted: I've traded my barely used 2022 vintage 320 Carry in for another S&W revolver... and I will stick to w my Sig 229 Elite. Though... I did buy a S&W M&P 2.0 Compact 3.6in and am loving it. I might be going all S&W sooner than I think (EDC/CCW, combat gun, and revolvers... oh those wonderful revolvers from a more civilized time, etc.) Sig has a problem with their 320. If they want to save the platform they need to redesign the mechanical safeties in the gun because what it currently has is not working. S&W's M&P 2.0 seems to be top dog in the striker fired world at the moment... I bought the M&P 2.0 Metal 3.6, w/TS, I'm really impressed, trigger just keeps getting better with use. |

I don’t understand their reluctance to use a trigger safety, even from day one. If it’s to be marketed as a LE pistol, it seems like that would just be obvious best practice. I have a Canik TP9SF Elite, which has a trigger safety, and is one of the best triggers I’ve ever felt on a handgun. It’s a wonderful pistol to shoot. If SIG’s goal was a good trigger, that’s an understandable goal, but clearly there are other ways to achieve that besides just having a pure full-cocked single action striker pistol with no trigger safety and a questionable striker block design. |

Genuinely curious if there is a higher percentage of LEO self shootings per hour of carry vs military or civilian. And is it higher for men or women? Its NOT only cops. There was a Concealed Carry Class I was an instructor at and we had a young man holster his sig I watched him, he never had his finger anywhere near the trigger, the 320 discharge and missed his pinky tow by 1/4" And Police departments bought into the 320 en masse and they likely use their pistols far more often than the US Military. I dont have the data. But I think Men are far more likely to be shot my a 320 because men are likely to carry far higher rates than Women. Just an observation. |

What really needs to happen is for some high ranking LE supervisor to have a round UD into their foot, piss them off royally, and then sic their detective unit on SIG. Write up some production of records requests and search warrants for Sig's offices to find evidence of criminal negligence on the part of the managers and engineers. Odds are damn high that they'll find documentation that Sig internally has known about the issues and refused to fix them. The timing of the Army gun upgrades almost guarantees that they knew internally about the drop issues ahead of time. Turn the docs into warrants, arrest those responsible. Few things are as motivating as steel bracelets and concrete boxes. |

Quoted: LOL. Yeah the air in her holster compressed the trigger when her backpack brushed her holster. Yeah that was it. LOL. Trash guns. The pitbull of firearms. It's incredible that even Gray Guns, who even denied that the drop issue in 2017 was happening has said 'yeah, there are circumstances where it can go off', yet there are still people who have to post GBRS levels of criss cross applesauce. The funny thing is if somebody actually filmed 4k proof with the holster clear and the guy's hand off it would be called staged. Some people will not be convinced there's a problem until their gun goes off in their holster into their leg. Luckily, the rest of the shooting world seems to be taking note. |
