Korn - “Daddy” It’s about being raped as a kid. Soundgarden - “Fell on Black Days” It’s darker now. It’s about depression. Taproot - “April Suits” Song about loss of somebody close. Along the lines of "You Csn Ler Go Now, Daddy," this song from Toy Story 2 is brutal:
 Toy Story 2 "When She Loved Me" Sarah McLachlan 1999 I think what we find sad is shaped by our lives. I have two young daughters, so songs like this hit close to the heart. I remember thinking this song was sad when I was younger and the song was about a toy. As a parent I now realize it's very clearly about children outgrowing their parents, something that is absolutely inevitable. When I hit me I was holding a two year old girl, and that's something I'll never forget. |
