They were mostly 25 ton units, a couple were less, and Trane had a lame brain idea that they could replicate the Copeland scroll at the proprietary level. Bad idea on their part. When I took control of the facility, I documented something close to 50% failure (it may have been 45%) with a Trane rep just 3 months shy of the units going out of warranty at their 5 year mark. I ended up getting a lot of free compressors. |
