Things are getting ugly after you declared yourself emperor of the HOA you live in. Most have fallen into line, but there are a few outliers who haven't seen the wisdom in your leadership methods.
You are now offered only one of these three tools to manage you flock. Which do you choose? Attached File |

Smith and Wesson.
The Ruger is a lot of weight to haul around and the Taurus is the dumbest firearm I've ever seen in person. |
|
For the solution to your question - I wouldn't choose any of those choices.

Ruger is the only real choice here.
The Taurus is a gimmick gun, and if you ever feel the desire to own an airweight .357, just go out in the garage and hit your hand with a ball-peen hammer for five minutes or so. Same effect, much cheaper cost. |

If we're talking revolvers, then my answer is none of those.
For revolvers, this would be my answer. " /> If we're talking something more realistic (a hand gun is a back up gun, not your primary weapon), then this is my choice: " /> |

I need a lock on my gun because the Karens of the HOA might get mad.
So S&W it is! |

Fuck taurus.
The 454 is too big and heavy to carry 100%. The J frame can be used with 38s effectively, you can always have it on you, easily concealable, you can carry a bunch of speed loaders, and can use 357 mag if you don't care about the connective tissue in your hand. |
|
If those are my options? Yikes. I'm taking every advantage I can get if I know there's a high likelihood of having to use it. While also accepting that means speed of draw is diminished from the barrel length and weight.
Maybe on a single point sling hanging under a jacket? Can I make a quick stock out of the blade of a hockey stick? |

What is the point of having a .357 if all you're going to run through it is powder puff loads? It's easy to carry and conceal. ETA that 454 is going weigh you down and wear you out. The j frame won't slow you down, you can maintain ninja speed. |

If I'm living in an HOA in your scenario, I'll take the S&W for concealability.

So being the smart ass I am I brought my S&W 500 mag. That lasted all of an hour with my belt holster before I swapped it out for my G31 |

#1 for the intimidation factor
#3 for the "surprise cockfags!" face-shooting capability. I went #3.... |

My Chiappa Rhino 6" if I have to fight, a Nagant revolver for executing dissidents.

All pretty much worthless for my uses.
If I had to chose I guess the Ruger as I could get more for it than the others to use for trade for a useable gun. The Ruger is big and clumsy and if you are not going to hunt elk with a pistol is pretty much worthless. The judge is ok for shooting snakes if you don't mind hauling around a brick with poor balance (yeah ,I know Taurus sold a ton of them). I am a S&W fiend but that is about the dumbest, least shootable gun they make. OPs list of choices doesn't fit my list of interesting pistols at all. |
|
Quoted: Ruger minus scope View Quote Of those 3 it would be this. Although for revolvers I prefer an older K-frame since I tend to shoot them better than anything thanks to the DA triggers. ETA: my current batch of K-frames Attached File |
