I’ve left this in my bag through TSA many times (on purpose). Also taken it to many events with metal detectors.

It’s 10 ounces and packs a punch.  Just put keys on it and youre good to go.

Cane Masters

You cannot have it taken from you by legal means, not even at airport boarding

They cannot ask you any questions about your abilities, or need for your appliance . They cannot ask you to justify your use

Hickory has a density almost half again harder than oak

it's cool

Cold steel has one called a city stick that is essentially a (medieval) mace.  I just got the pistol grip version for an upcoming trip.  I will probably actually use it as a cane as well since I will be pretty stiff and sore after the flight.

Aluminum clip board.  Most people will stay away from you, assuming you are taking a survey or collecting signatures for a petition.

For those who don't make those connections, striking with the edge over the head, across the teeth, nose or cheek bones will leave them bleeding, needing stitches or worse.

I’ve often wanted to fill one with molten gold or silver as a stealth way to carry wealth.    You could do Both, and have a nice stabby beatin stick.   Some of the Pro models are pretty robust.  You’d need to use the old style with the bottom release.     Top handle release type is filled a complicated wire mechanism.
It would be a fun project to do.

The density of the gold in the handles would immediately trigger the people running the xray machine.  Aluminum looks very light almost transparent,  gold (or other heavy metals like the lead in batteries) looks very dark and immediately draws the eye of the person running the xray machine.

If you want to carry gold stealthily that is a bad plan.  Better to get gold coins and mix them with regular coins or replace similar sized batteries in an electronic device.

Same, multiple times. I stopped carrying a roll of quarters in my bag through TSA checkpoints. If you are going to carry one, take it out of your bag and just put it in a bin loose with your keys/phone/etc. A roll of quarters doesn't contain enough value (monetary or otherwise) to even bother anymore.

FYI many places are not using metal detectors.  New sensors look for any object that is consistent in density to a weapon, even a folded pocket knife, or 3d-printed object that has a certain density, or form.  This triggers an alert for inspection.

They are usually two columns with lights on top, not a traditional "doorway".

I don’t have any of the 301 pencils.  The only 301 pens I have are the compact version and they are great for that feature but I personally prefer the feel of the metal knurling of the 701s rather that the plastic of the 301s.

This is the F-301 compact version that I have, which I do have several -

I've gotten smacked in the head with those bullsnaps, they've got some gravity. There's a company that makes something similar for pulling your rolling luggage around but with a cheap light snap. Leather luggage leash with a bull snap, coloring books for Christmas but classy and airport friendly

For that matter, a well-built flashlight can be used in much the same manner as a rolled up magazine. You don't need the skull crusher bezel to make it effective. Even a cheap Surefire G2 can concentrate some force.

I got my "stainless steel" Zebra 301 the other day. Package says stainless steel barrel, but only the upper half of the barrel is metal. Lower half is cheap plastic casting.

It was cheap enough I'll treat it like a disposable, but it's definitely not worthy of trust in an emergency. I'd put more trust in a 5 cent wooden pencil.

Regarding the cold steel city stick I took my pistol grip version on an international trip a couple days ago.  It passed through TSA and Philippines Airport security just fine.  I even got moved the priority disability line for TSA when they saw me with it.  I would not normally take advantage of that, but didn't want to break cover.  Plus it took us 10 minutes instead of anhour at MCO.

On the flip side my brother in law is a Filipino cop and he recognized the purpose of the cane immediately.

Edit: I need to put some thread locker on the head of the cane.

I looked at the 701, but I dislike fine point pens. The 301 has a medium point, which why I went for it.
