The core problem is the Republican party refuses to wield power. Democrats wield the absolute limits of their power and often ignore the rules governing it anyway. When caught in a lie or an inconvenient scandal, they ignore it. Since there is no significant republican pushback, it goes away. The real, dirty secret is the modern Republican party can't pick too hard at the Democrat corruption without dismantling their own powerbase. |
