We have the same kind of wannabes here doing the funeral stuff. They roll into the major intersections and shut them down......even the lanes that are turning right into the opposite direction. They start MFing you if you don't respect their "authority." There was one of the patriot guard guys who got ran over years ago when he ran the red light into a major intersection. I respect what those guys do, but not when they're out doing dangerous stuff.
Same goes for the tow truck drivers. They run red/blue lights and sirens here. Even police and ambulances STOP and SLOWLY proceed through intersections, some of these clowns blast right through them. |

I worked with a guy who did similar shit. Certified lunatic. One day he pulled over his boss for speeding. conduct traffic stops. It was a PPV Tahoe all decked out with a full Federal light package and everything. Looked 100% legit other than the plates. His party ended when he pulled over the police chief's daughter in the town he was a firefighter in.
I don't know all the details of what happened since the story stayed out of the news and everyone involved stayed tight lipped about it but that PD owns and operates said Tahoe now. 
ETA: A former POC on my old department used blue lights to pull over an off duty sheriffs deputy for allegedly cutting him off. That ended with him getting his ass beat on the side of the road. |

I guess I feel a bit lucky that I work in a county with few enough of us that we all know each other. Well, except for new hires. I try not to know them until they complete FTO because I don't want to like someone who isn't going to make it.

A Chevrolet Tahoe then pulled up and that driver, Jeremy Dewitte, got out and then directing traffic, according to the report. The deputy, who was off duty with his wife and son, saw this same pattern happen at several intersections along Highway 17/92 until Dewitte directed the deputy to move into the right lane, which he was blocking, the affidavit said. Dewitte, 39, was yelling at the deputy, telling him, "You cannot drive in and out of my funeral" and, "It doesn't matter, get out of my escort, (expletive) boy," records show. Dewitte is also accused of slapping the hood of the deputy's truck as he drove by and repeatedly placing his hand on his holstered gun as if he were reaching for it. |
