Disagree.   I think they are a resurgence of the old school post WWI communists, but I don’t know if the average member knows and celebrates the history.   They almost took over Germany, and they were strong in America and Britain.  They did succeed in Russia.

I do think a lot of the anarchists from 10-20 years ago got folded in, but they would be pretty old now, when you think about it.

There is at least one thread on the Project Veritas video, maybe more, right here in GD.  For the Prager interview of O'Keefe you might have to go to Dennis Prager's web site and stream his radio show from today 6/4.  Well worth the effort IMO.  Project Veritas comes through again, exposes the cockroaches to the cleansing light of truth.

But I think their endgame is to feel like they're opposing tyranny. Everyone comes up with conspiracy theories about george soros, but I think it's a lot simpler than that.

People naturally want to fight dragons. They like the feeling of righteousness and courage (whether real or simulated) that comes from standing up to some sort of evil monster. When the big dragons are slain, people move down to the smaller and smaller dragons. Eventually when all the dragons are slain, most of the knights will put down their swords. But some of them will keep seeking out dragons to slay. They'll go searching caves and mountains and deserts, desperately looking for an opportunity to prove their dragon-slaying credentials and bask in the glory and admiration enjoyed by their forefathers who really did battle with giant flying firebreathing lizards.

After enough failures to find any actual dragons, they'll start slaying lions and bears. They'll drag the dead lion to the village and proclaim "Behold the mighty dragon that I've slain and saved you from!" and the villagers will say "That's not a dragon, that's a lion. But it was eating or cattle, so thanks I guess". Then when all the lions and bears are gone they'll move onto wolves, then deer, then rabbits, then spiders. Proclaiming all of them to be dragons. Sometimes they'll slay the villagers own livestock and drag it before them, boasting of the great beast they've slain and saved them from. Eventually they'll start burning down the wheat fields. When the villagers demand to explain why their wheat field is being set on fire, they'll proudly explain that it's to battle dragons. The knight might even start slaying villagers who he deems to be pro-dragon after demanding he stop burning their crops and slaying their cattle.

One thing we seem to be learning about the maintenance of modern society is that when you make enough progress that people no longer have any dragons to slay, sometimes they'll start inventing their own dragons. If the human mind has no true evil to prove itself against, it will play make-believe and invent its own true evil to live out that glory. The prosperity of the modern world is a rather new thing. So maybe too much peace and prosperity has consequences. Not just because it makes people soft, but because if people don't have a dragon to slay, they're going to find something else to slay.

i suspect that the average antifa member would have a great deal of difficulty answering the question of what they want.

they probably can see a lot of things wrong in the world that need to be addressed.  and their list of things probably has a lot of overlap with answers you'd hear from rank and file conservatives.   things like a general recognition that our government isn't working and doesn't represent us, and too much corruption, and the entire justice system is beyond FUBAR.  they'd probably agree the two party system doesn't offer real choice.  etc.     the net of that would be that the problems they care about can't be addressed through the current system, which leaves them feeling desperately out of control and helpless, so the only thing left for them to do is try to burn down the system and rebuilt from scratch.

obviously, their proposed new system would be wildly different from ours, to the extent they could articulate it.   imagine giving AOC a box of 64 crayons and a giant bag of weed, and asking her to draw a system of government.   probably no more coherent than strange women lying in ponds distributing swords.

but answering an overly broad question like "what do you want?" is going to be difficult for anyone.

I don't know why they don't just chant "death to America" Because that's what I think they want, and what this is all about. Rip the mask off. THAT is there goal... If you are one of them. I suspect this, and it will both vary from member to member, and shift based on the latest ideological innovation.  Antifa seems to largely be a loosely connected group of leftist wingnut thugs, not some shadow-SA waiting to come out of the shadows.  Worrisome enough, but having some big overarching plan?  I doubt it.  I keep seeing predictions of Antifa invading suburbs or doing “big” things, and instead we have common criminality and brutishness.  Panic if you want, I’m not.  Doesn’t mean I’m ignoring the world, but they aren’t going to try rounding people up in the night.  Maybe by some vanishingly small chance we get to a police state and that’s a worry some day, but they have zero ability to do any of that for the foreseeable future.
