So, what exactly is that nondescript, pedestrian-looking bike in the OP? It certainly isn't as interesting as this design:

Actually I really don't, just this bike, so his gifs are fitting for this thread.  He is rather a tool.

Yes, this. 1978-79 Honda CBX.  Had one in silver, was 100 hp, IIRC.  Very smooth and fairly quick for its day.  Much smaller bikes are faster now than it was but a really great looking bike.

Fair enough, but I don't think it's a candidate for 'sexiest ever'.

The touring mode is not too bad.  6 cylinders are odd though.

Excellent taste here.

I'll add in one that cannot be ignored:

The 1936 Knucklehead, the a priori Harley-Davidson and the single most influential motorcycle design in all of history. It's styling features echo today throughout the model lines of a dozen manufacturers

Funny you should say that!  My dad had a 79 CBX for awhile.  He found it in a barn covered in dust a couple towns over.  First owner...Evel Knievel.  Even had the paperwork tracing back to it.  He restored it.  Blast to ride.  I remember having it in 4th gear, half throttle, at 100mph...so it had PLENTY of room to climb.  Thing was a beast.  Heavy...but a beast.
