Not knocking your ride but check out a couple differences from the normal. Only paint left is the frame and tank. Everything else is chromed. California slash pipes, no baffles. Couple other features that can make it do a dance around most other 1100's. Esp, ANYTHING  Hardly Dangerous.

I know what the differences are. I wasn't comparing them. Just saying I'm another Shadow fan, but whatever.

No problem, just explaining myself. I've been a fan of Shadow 1100s since I first saw one in the '80s. I was looking around for a '96 or earlier until I found my '97 locally for a price I couldn't pass up. I thought the cosmetic changes they made that year looked nice once I finally got to see one in person, so I jumped on it.

The one I posted is an '86 but brought up to an 87 with the sissy bar. The photo is the first ride after a rebuild, kind of a shake down before a long road haul . Hence no leather. I went for a slide on her prior and spent a couple weeks on a rebuild. I was gimping around on one leg for a while (I could gross people out with peeling off a scaboozo and asking if you want some jerky). The slide occurred on a hairpin, dink with no break lights decided to come to a full stop after the turn. Thank christ for the shaft drive, My leg was pinned under it sliding into on coming traffic forward of the bike. Mini helmet shot off and got crushed under the on coming. The flatfeeties showed up and made me do circles and donuts before they'd let me haul ass to a local Honda place to go through the crash books for parts before they closed. Must of been a hell of a sight with me kind of cut up, bleeding, the bike bent up and covered in blood, leaking gas and barreling down suburbia. Decent guy that owned it stayed with me so we could place the parts order.

JEDTA: I ended up in front of the bike because when I went to say screw it, it's gone on the slide, I was laying it down and let go of the grips then both wheels caught and flipped the bike over catching me with it and trapping me under it. Talk about a body slam. Empty of everything, that thing is over 600 lbs. Slid about 100 ft in a tee shirt with that thing on top. Only reason I wasn't shredded is that the left bar (actually the riser, bent back almost 20 degrees off) and left foot peg (glad that didn't fold) along with the tank took most of it.

I have a completely different take on what's sexy, I suppose, but I get a tingle in the pants when I see a KTM 690 in rally trim, not some showboat cruiser, or a trellis-framed Italian bike. They do nothing for me.

I know it's goofy looking, but like an AR15 it's completely a weapon of function, aesthetics just don't apply and that makes it wicked to me.

I took the pic of the V1000. I saw it at Concours d' Elegans at Amelia Island, FL. It was owned by the Barber Museum. They started it up for me. The exhaust was the most beautiful music I've ever heard.

That is actually KR's 1984 Daytona only 0W-69 680cc square four. The 0W-69s were built for Roberts and Lawson to make sure that Yamaha would continue its unbroken streak of Daytona 200 wins.

Roberts made it 13 in a row.

I don't actually expect to ever see one being ridden on the street, much like I've only ever seen the NR750 at the Barber Museum and have seen exactly one RC45 ridden on the road in 20 years. They will virtually all end up in collections or oil sheiks' garages but I doubt Honda will actually produce nearly as many as they have stated. To say that a $180k motorcycle that can't even really be raced is a niche market is a tad of an understatement.  Jay Leno will perhaps have one, maybe Tom Cruise so I guess there's a good chance to see one in Southern CA,maybe not so much everywhere else.
