Added to bucket list... I like that a lot better than the other small amphibians that have been promoted and occasionally built lately.

looks kind of like a lake buccaneer got drunk and knocked up a seadoo.  still cool though.

A neat niche to try, the high-end recreational tool rather than traditional plane (from this wannabe but landbound person's POV).  Very cool website, aspirational videos, etc.  "Get around in this rather than that RV".

Now if it was just the size/pax/cargo of a Goose but the same cost and maintenance

i believe the paint scheme was designed by an arfcommer.

I designed the ORANG crest/patch on the vertical-stab, not the whole paint scheme. A very talented crew from the 173rd FW designed the rest and put it all together.

Not that it matters simply because it's super cool looking, but here is the LINK of the guy who did the overlay skin on the photo.

I was a jet mech, Eagle Keeper; the F-15 was my primary jet.  I always thought the Eagles were one of the most beautiful aircraft ever built, but I am very bias.  I had the chance to work on F-5's some also.  Not the biggest threat, but I always thought they were a beautiful airplane, just didn't like crawling the intake.  The A-10 beautiful?  I guess pretty is as pretty does...

That's a real plane? I thought it was just a prop from Mad Max.

I have no experience with aircraft. I'm just here for the pictures.

Yepp, real plane.

Wow, that's pretty neat. Ugly sure, but still pretty cool.

The Constellation—Connie for short—was flown by airlines around the world, as well as the U.S. military over three decades. Eventually, it would be remembered as an enduring symbol, the epitome of grace in propeller-driven aircraft. When the much-beloved Constellation was unveiled, it boasted unheard-of refinements, such as air conditioning, reclining seats, and extra lavatories. It was a plane ahead of its time, at least twice as fuel efficient as the industry’s first jets and as efficient as many of today’s modern aircraft.

I have a wonderful memory of my first aircraft flight as a young child. I distinctly remember walking across the tarmac and climbing the steps into one of these big beautiful ships, flown by TWA.

You wouldn't happen to know if they used parts from the Connie that crashed in Antarctica in 1970?  It's still sitting out there, AFAIK largely intact, at McMurdo.

Somewhat more realistically, "Two turning, two burning, two smoking, two choking, and two more unaccounted for!"

That the way I'd always heard it.  Some here was kind enough to correct me.  It's "Two turning, two burning, two smoking, two choking, and two unaccounted for."

Always thought the Convair Tradewind Bow Loader was a neat concept but hard to imagine how it would be useful.

ETA: Except as a medivac.  I read it could carry almost 100 stretcher cases.

part of the plan at one time was to have floating makeshift bases that were hard to hit with nukes since they were mobile.  Couple documentaries mention it briefly somewhere. Not sure how much study and money they threw at it.

Its hard to believe none of the Boeing 314 flying boats were saved.
There is a guy with some cockamamie scheme to try and recover one that is scattered at about 17,000 down.
It would be easier to just build one from scratch.
