I got choked up reading the updates on Blackfive. Wish I was still down that way just so I could make some small show of support. God Bless Sgt. Rudzinski's and his family.

RIP to another fine American......
Thanks to the OP for taking the time and effort to be a part of the procession and documenting it for the rest of us. These are the stories you rarely see in the MSM. |

God speed oh fallen brother.... The halls of vallhalla await you.
Lo there do I see my father. Lo there do I see my mother. Lo there do I see my brothers and my sisters. Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the beginning. Lo they do call to me they bid me take my place among them in the Halls of Valhalla, where the brave may live forever. |

Eternal Father, grant, we pray,
To all Marines, both night and day, The courage, honor, strength, and skill Their land to serve, thy law fulfill; Be thou the shield forevermore From every peril to the Corps. AMERICA RECOGNIZES BUT ONE ARISTOCRACY, THAT OF HEROES. Semper Fi, Brother. Save me a spot in formation, I'll be along eventually. |

Brings a tear to a soldiers eye. May the wind always be at his back, and the sun upon his face. I hope he is in the NCO club way up high. To a hero....................

RIP, Sergeant.
I wish those not in uniform, be it military, BSA, Legion, LEO, etc, would stop saluting. The handover the heart for those not in uniform is far more appropriate. Thanks for sharing and I'm sorry to get off track. |
|
I noticed that the 'Patriot Guard' riders are giving a hand salute. Is that proper etiquette? I thought that was a no no unless in uniform.
|
|
I see nothing wrong with civlians, and especially law enforcement or boy scouts, saluting as a way of offering respect and honor. Let's focus on the real reason for this thread- respect for SGT Rudzinski and his family, and for fallen Veterans everywhere.

I grew up in Champaign county and lived in several towns, villages, and cities there before I moved to WI. I know where every single one of your pictures was taken and could drive to each one by memory. I didn't know Sgt. Rudzinski, but I'm sure I know men that served with him. It's been about 10 years since I moved to WI, but the sight of those places, the event, and the patriotism and respect of the people really touches me today.
Thank you for this post. |
