I want one to make a coffee table with.

Open it, level the top, etch "Break in case of Emergency" on glass top.

I'd leave them in cosmo and see about fitting a couple spam cans of 7.62x54 in with them.

haha...fantastic idea

Decent?

Par for the course.  Just keep in mind that you're paying about $100 for the thing.  It's not going to be like a $2000 rifle.  Have you seriously never heard of this kind of rifle before?

Buy the crate..........

I would buy one or two of those "extra rifles" off of you. IF you were close by.

Or....just do a "group buy" with 20 of your friends.  For your efforts, you'll end up with the free coffee table.

Aloha, Mark

Good way to get on the BATFE radar

Yup, my first thought.

Do it if its worth the potential hassle or ATF visit.

You might never hear anything, but some others haven't been so lucky.

I would not do it.

How would they know??  Do a 4473, the FFL calls in a long gun, there is no way they'd know if it was multiples unless the FFL got audited.

Two ways. The FFL rats you out for a quantity buy, or eventually when the FFL is audited they will notice 20 guns signed out to the same guy on the same day. They take notice of that stuff during audits.

ZOMG! I have some 200 year old bolt actions!!! black helicopters ever whur!!!

I have 3 Mosin crates in the basement that I use as storage. I may have to take one of them and make a coffee table out of it.
Have 4 91/30's. 2 laminates and 2 nice 1926 5 line rifles. Those would go nice inside the table.

But as someone else said. Those crates smell something fierce. Going to have to find a way to sanitize them without stripping away the original Russian markings on the exterior.

I would do it if I had a C&R license.

Average price and aimsurplus = good guys.  Sometimes they have other models going for $10-20 less.

Yes, Yes you should.

What would freight be on something like that?

I really like the idea of a Crate Bar with legs made of Ammo tins.   I'm thinking you'll need 6 crates per leg, so 24 tins.  Maybe you could design it with one leg on either side, so 12 tins?

5 per leg would be ideal.

20 rifles, 20 spam cans.

Brilliant!

I think a reproduction crate would work for this purpose, and 5 would suffice.  I do love the break glass top idea......

That means I only need 3 more

How much could one pick up a Mosin for?

Average price?

Average for a Russian is around $100, but I paid $80 and $90 for mine.  I picked out the best my Dunhams had.

I shoot my 1938 91/30 at 500 yards. I am easily getting shots on my 12x15" plate at that distance. They are not tack drivers but they are great fun at $0.195 a round. I can hit the top of a pop can at 100 yards.

just the thought of a CRATE of rifles is pretty damn cool but turning it into a bar with ammo tin legs is freaking awesome
