Im leaning to purchase the one with the manual safety . Any reason why not to ? The lack of trigger safety (dingus or whatever you call it ) makes me uneasy … Btw ..I currently carry G19 or 26 .

The manual safety is completely unnecessary if you understand how modern pistols function and you use a proper holster.

NGL if a gun is going to point at my dick (appendix carry) I’d really like that extra safety. I like my dick.

Interested in a manual safety for when I get one.

Preventing the trigger of being pulled by an object .. the dingus on the Glock trigger may prevent this .. mayebe I’m overthinking it .

been carrying one the better part of 2 years, appendix, no safety. my dick is still intact. i actually had my dogs leash yank it out of the holster and have it drop a good 7 feet on concrete. not the way i wanted to test drip safety: but it passed with flying colors.

From a 19/26 to a 365 with safety. Nothing like going backwards in your capabilities. Why not just go all out for a 1911 and keep the mag in your pocket? Much safer that way and you can shoot yourself fewer times by accident.

I grew up shooting 1911's, so several of my guns have the manual safety. Sometimes it's just easier to stick with muscle memory. There is no right or wrong answer.

Mine has a safety, its an XL I got for a great price.

I can remove the safety if I want, or I can just not use it.

I'm in the habit of having my thumb on it anyway.

Another 1911 guy checking in, my 365 does not have one. I have been thinking about adding one, I carry at 4 oclock. So even if it went off only my ass would get a burn, no appendix for me.

I really kind of want the safety, but I just dont want to pay for it as the gun does work as is.

A modern pistol cannot be fired without pulling the trigger*.
If it is in the holster it’s safe.
If you aren’t pulling the trigger it’s safe.
You don’t need an external safety because you actually WANT it to fire when the trigger is pulled.

*Well, except Sigs.

What you are referring to as a “trigger safety” is, in fact a tabbed inertia drop safety on Glocks, hunting rifles etc.

Because the trigger bar of the P365 moves in the opposite direction of Glocks when the trigger is pulled there is no value to having a tabbed interim safety on the trigger.

There is not a right or wrong answer on whether or not to have a manual safety other than consistency.

If you normally ran a 1911, BHP or other gun with a manual safety I would say yes.

Since you mostly carry carry a Glock, then no a manual safety is not a good idea for you.

The “dingus” on the trigger of Glocks and many other striker guns is a tabbed inertia safety to prevent the gun from going off when dropped due to the trigger bar moving within the gun due to inertia.

Tabbed triggers on modern bolt action hunting rifles are also inertia safeties.

They are NOT there to provide any protection from objects which get into the trigger guard..

I have a manual safety p365. You can get a different grip and just get rid of it if you later decide you don't want it.

The lack of a Glock style trigger safety, Sig's what the fuck ever attitude and stupid carry with small guns like this, like shoving it in a pocket, convinced me to get the safety version. It's easy to convert later

I wouldn’t for edc if I’m not used to it but don’t mind a safety if it’s mainly a woods, hiking, outdoors, hunting gun.

I agree 100% about keeping Mr. Winky safe. I recently bought one with the manual safety. It works as intended and fits the Vedder Light Tuck perfectly.

On a side note it is the most accurate and softest shooting "small gun" I have ever owned.

If a manual safety makes you more comfortable carrying a gun and you carry more often then F what anyone else thinks.

I have a 365 with no safety. It's never gone off all by itself
in the 3 years I've had it. I have a kydex holster that covers
the trigger gaurd.

Xl, M&P and of course all my 1911’s have a MS.
It’s a no brainer and a great place to point your thumb at the target.
My XD-M in God’s caliber has a grip safety.

You can not use the safety you have. But you can't use the safety you don't.

Bought one on sale and it has the safety. Can't complain about having the option to use it. Not like it gets in the way of something.

I personally prefer a manual safety on pistols but I don't have that Sig pistol. Not all manual safeties make sense to me, I don't like when they're positioned awkwardly. I want them to be in a natural position to use with a firing grip, like on a CZ or a 1911.

That said, I currently carry a CZ PCR, so no manual safety. But if they made that gun with a safety option I'd have taken it over the decocker.

my GF's 365 has a thumb safety. mine doesn't. i don't feel any less safe that there isn't a cheaply made and engineered plastic tab on mine. and she acknowledges that if she had it to do again, she wouldn't have purchased the safety version.

All guns should have frame mounted manual safeties, it's the biggest thing wrong with Glocks that both Sig and S&W did right in their striker fired guns.

If a manual safety is an option its the only way to buy the gun IMO.

You should get your hands on one and see how it feels. I found the safety to be very slick and not very easy to actuate. I can only imagine how difficult it might be under stress or with sweaty hands.

Of course you can overcome anything with training, but I didn’t see it worth the risk of it costing me a second or longer if the time came and I really needed it.

If the safety were closer in shape to the M17/18 levers I would be all about it.

I’ve found I only like manual safeties on 1911/2011, the HP obviously. They just aren’t all that great on modern pistol models, poorly executed compared to the OGs.

365xl with no safety, carry iwb at 4 o’clock in a kydex holster. I have a lot of pistols with safety’s but feel very comfortable with this setup.

No safety for me. There's been numerous times I've forgotten to take off the safety of my shotgun while duck hunting. Not a big deal if I miss a bird or two, but I don't want to deal with that in the even my life depends on it.

Yeah you can just leave it off, like with a Beretta 92. I just leave it on, but I could see using it when you reholster and snapping off again or using it when you do dumb stuff , like stuffing it in a pocket, not that I'm admitting anything.
