Be honest and answer without looking it up.

Today I ventured out to hunt&gather a few toiletries(soap, toothbrush, etc). I wanted a couple of bars of Lava bar soap. Lava works great for really dirty hand washing.
First I went into a Walgreen's. I scanned the soaps on the shelves and Lava was not to be seen. Thinking maybe the store kept it over in the heavy cleaning supply aisle I checked there.
No Lava soap.
I then went up to the register and asked the nice young man if Walgreen's had Lava soap. This guy gave me that blank stare young people do when they don't have a fucking clue what some Old Fart is asking for. He finally replied he did not know what Lava soap was. I'm standing there with the classic You gotta be fucking kidding me face.
Success was determined unobtanium at this establishment so I vamoosed to hunting in another locale.
The CVS across the street looked promising so I wandered over there.
Again, no Lava was to be found by myself in the soap display area or in the cleaning supply aisle.
I girded myself to walk up front and ask the nice young woman if per chance CVS "carried" Lava soap.
Again I was met with the totally clueless look of a bewildered young person who doesn't have a single clue what an Old Fart wants. And yet again I was informed that she did not know what Lava soap was.
Now I'm old but I'm not THAT old. It wasn't as if I were asking for some of Dr. Rhubarb's Stomach Bitters & Horse Liniment.
Admittedly this was a small sampling of young adulthood but surely young people somewhere have heard of fuckin' Lava soap.
Good thing I didn't ask for some Marvel's Mystery Oil and a Tap&Die.
Damn whippersnappers.

I'm 28. I am very framilar with Lava soap.

Now that I've read the OP: Wal-Mart has it.

I'm 24, know it well.  Although I prefer the shit that smells like oranges.  And oddly enough comes in an orange bottle.

Yes.  I'm 30 (does that make me young?) and my pap had it at his house.  We used it all the time after working in the garage.

It's good at getting Marvin's face off yo' hands.  Doesn't mess up Jimmy's nice towels.

Ask for pumice soap or exfoliates next time.

I'm 35, I remember Lava.  It was called Lava because it had pumice in it, which comes from volcanoes.  It worked pretty well.  Goop worked better (but was disgusting).  Fast forward to the present, Fast Orange is better still.

Yes. Do NOT wash your junk with it!

Yep, and keep a couple of bars in the bathroom for the tough stuff, although I tend to use dish washing liquid for its degreasing properties.

I'm 22 and I know what Lava soap is. My dad always had some. It's the best after working on cars, quads or guns. Gets all the grease off.

27, and yes.  We even have Lava bars on the sinks at work.  I personally like the Gojo soap with pumice, it seems to work just as good and rinse off cleaner.  Plus you smell like oranges, and who doesn't like that...

My pop was on ass bustin' duty, my momma broke the yardstick on me. And for you young fucks, yardsticks were made from substantial lumber back then. They only had 5 digit telephone numbers.
My granny's was 6-0655

Yes. I worked in the Oilfield repairing equipment. This required sliding under and around various pieces of large heavy equipment. I'd get filthy.
Used Lava to clean my legs and arms. It worked great.
