Hello all. I've been thinking about getting a fun little pocket plinker as a can host. Something pocketable, but not semi-auto (already have some of those). I'm hoping someone sells a single-barrel darringer with a threaded barrel, or something like that. I'd actually considered one of those silly .22 lifecard pistols, but they have permanently axed the threaded barrels for them. Any ideas?

|
Could you not get the Lifecard and have a third party (ADCO or equivalent) add a threaded insert? Just like what Lifecard did?

Decades ago I saw a 22lr pen gun AOW with a suppressor that looked like a Monte Cristo tubo for sale. With your requirements I'd get one of those.

The small Beretta auto. Model 21? There is one on the EE. I understand it’s a special deal to get those threaded.
|
|
Maybe some little Israeli model, intgral silenced, transportable, disguised as a bicycle tire pump?

Love these threads. OP specifically states no semi-auto because he already has some.
So what does someone suggest? A semi-auto. |

Whats the problem with holdin the slide closed with a thumb on any semi auto?

had a 21 covert. Not as good as my Ruger MKiv tactical. What you are describing is the chiappa or cricket single shot pistol . Its got a left handed bolt

Why? I mean, you can pick up a perfectly serviceable .22lr semiauto pistol for under $300 last I checked.

You could get a Keystone Cricket pistol, chop it down, and make a smaller grip/stock for it. There's some pretty cool 3D printed options out there that'd be easy to modify
|

Get a Phoenix arms HP22. It's a good chance it won't work properly and cycle, so it won't be semi auto.

Contact Cotton Branch Custom and have him make you a single shot silenced .22lr pen thingy. Check out the stuff he makes, I think it's exactly what you're looking for:

A friend has a Walther TPH that is stupid quiet.

So OP is looking for a threaded .22lr Obrez . . .
Sounds like a fun project! |

Someone has a suppressed 22 zip gun. That seems like a good choice.

I’ve been wanting to form 1 a super small, mind you ineffective, can for my North American arms 22lr revolver. I don’t think it would be “quiet” but I think it would be fun.

Just get a 21A Covert and call it good. It’s tiny but still practical enough to hit what you’re aiming at.

You could buy a cheap two shot derringer, render one barrel inoperable, trim it, and then thread the functional barrel. Should work fine, but you’ll need a decent machinist to make the working barrel concentric.
