A 21-year-old Canadian TikTok influencer from Toronto is dead after a tragic skydiving accident.
On Aug. 27th, Tanya Pardazi was skydiving at Skydive Toronto when she fell to her death. The skydiving facility said in a statement via Facebook that "The skydiver released a quickly rotating main parachute at a low altitude without the time/altitude required for the reserve parachute to inflate." Though it did not name the skydiver, she has since been identified as Pardazi, a philosophy student at the University of Toronto, per CTV. Pardazi was also a TikTok influencer with more than 95,000 followers. She had just finished her solo class at Skydive Toronto, and the fatal fall marked the first time she jumped alone, according to CTV. https://people.com/human-interest/social-media-influencer-and-miss-canada-semi-finalist-dies-after-accident-during-first-solo-skydive/ |

She died doing what she loved. That is the last hit she’ll ever get.

Did she dab on the way down? 'Cause that's how you get the likes.

I bet there’s video. No way a hot TikTok influencer isn’t going to GoPro her first solo jump.

I know the people that run that place quite well. One weekend years ago, most of their senior instructors were away competing at the nationals. The one senior instructor left on the DZ got hurt and according to CSPA rules, no student jumping is allowed without a senior rated instructor on site. They called up my DZ and I went over to their DZ for that weekend and the next so they could run their student operation. |

Died doing what she loved . . . being the center of attention.

Years ago a Miss North Carolina runner up did the exact same thing. Friends said she wanted to "restore her self confidence after coming in second".
She went through a good sized tree. It was apparently pretty ugly. |

There are smarter things you can do than jump out of perfectly good airplane.

Quoted: Reserve should have activated via the AAD. View Quote I was kinda wondering about that. I think the newer cypress models are supposed to fire with a partially open main. I had an older one that didn’t fire when I’m pretty sure it should have. I never got a straight answer from cypress but they didn’t want to send it back to me. |

Aside from looking hot and making money, what did she do meaningful with her life?

Quoted: Can anyone familiar with skydiving explain this to me? View Quote I think it means the cords were tangled, preventing the chute from fully opening. A solution is to cut the chute off and deploy the emergency chute. She panicked when she saw how close to the ground she was and cut the lines but the emergency chute didn’t have time to deploy. I’m gonna add, she was probably going to die if she didn’t try cutting free. A twisted chute doesn’t provide enough drag to slow the jumper to a safe landing speed. |

I'm all out of edginess for the day.
Always a shame to see someone die that young if they weren't hurting anyone. |
