What I find amusing is that 90% of all tattoos I see look, at best, noticeably flawed and at worst like it was done by some ex-con meth head from a low rent shop in a strip mall.
It's amazing to me how undiscerning most people are when it comes to marking their skin forever and who applies that ink. Some tats are amazing, clearly done by a talented artist. That's the remaining 5%. Most people with ink believe theirs was done by this 5%. Most people are completely wrong. The other point is that many who get tats, when they choose a design, place zero emphasis on how it will age. Some designs/styles age a lot better than others. Most turn in to a blurry mess. |

I've got full sleeves, my throat and hands are tattooed, along with my legs and feet. Good sized chest/torso piece, ears are stretched etc. I've got a decent job, pay my taxes and raise my kids. I'm active in my church and will help you move if you ask (unless its really hot out haha).
But after reading through this thread, i think it's time to embrace a life of drugs and crime i'm obviously better suited for lol |

My opinion?
Get one $5,000 tattoo, not 100x $50 tattoos. I know people that have full tats that look amazing and I k ow folks that decided to cover themselves $40 at a time. One looks like a walking canvass the other looks like they just for out of prison. |

Tats are nice for people that can afford them. Lots of classy tats out there.
What bothers me is when, for example, my buddy’s grandson (and gf) are and have been druggies for any years. They can’t or won’t hold jobs…been in prison, no drivers licenses, have been “rehabbed” unsuccessfully numerous times, have robbed their grandparents blind (gold, jewels, electronics, etc) and the enabler grandmother has emptied their savings “helping” them. They are both COVERED with tats…seems their main goal in life is to be unproductive, suck on others tit and buy tattoos. |

I will say i am not a fan of needles though i do have an eyebrow piercing. Mostly people with tattoos are dumb and get dumb tattoos. If they are face neck or hand tattoos the correlation to making poor decisions tends to increase exponentially. I am proud that i've made it almost 40 years without actually wanting to pay some drugged up tard to draw shit on me. Seriously what is even the point? Some tatoos are amazing as art. Don't care if someone wants to get tattoed. However, as an older guy I have seen some tattos on older chicks that just old mottled, splayed out splotches that are no longer the works of art as originally tatted.
Didn't affect the sex at all. |

I am not transphobic or homophobic and i really have no problem associating or being friends with people in either group. I just think it's a poor decision that will not bring you any happiness... Perhaps the issue is you (OP). Tattoos are often a sign of a screwed up person for example when they get face and neck tattoos.
Then people deface their body with grotesque arms tattoos all over. Yes...the issue is not with the people who see it as disgusting and a possible sign of a bad person, but with the people who think it is beautiful. |

This is entirely different than the person whose apartment is littered with bongs and gets high half the time or more every day, Or has neck, face, hands, etc. Ink. Grab 1000 physicians/surgeons at random, 1000 physical sciences Ph.D.s at random, 1000 STEM undergraduates making above the median personal income. 1000 HS graduates making above the median personal income, 1000 HS graduates making the median or less personal income, 1000 HS dropouts, and 1000 felons. Compare the annual marijuana use of each group. Compare the annual alcohol consumption of each group. Compare the annual smoked tobacco consumption of each group. Compare the annual income of each group. Dress each in some hiking sneaker booties, socks, pants, and a T shirt. Compare the visible tattoos of each group. Compare the annual hard drug use of each group. Compare the age corrected annual ER visits of each group. Compare the age and looks corrected social status / sexual market value of individuals in each group. Compare the DUI rate of each group. There are going to be very different patterns with each of those groups. Basically, occasional recreational marijuana use and non readily visible tattoo in and of itself are not going to be exclusionary from success. |
