If the chop shop was any good, your car will have already been pieced out before lunch break. Sorry for your loss.

Probably wouldn't ask GD for legal advice or advice on how not to get yourself in legal trouble by doing anything stupid such as kicking his door in or confronting him. You're looking at charges and a lawsuit for sure if you follow GD stupid advice.

Back when I was young and dumb a guy broke into our home and stole a few things including the ONLY baby pictures of my son. I was trying to pay his bail bond when the nice detective came up to me and said that I couldn't do that. I really like being old sometimes.

I'm confused.
Your title says you followed him to his home. How did he ditch your car? |

If so, why are they not already there with you, and rather just gave you his address? Seems like a huge liability for a cop to tell a regular Joe "hey here's address of the guy who stole your car, happy hunting!" |

Ooh, it must have been about seven, eight years ago. Me and the little lady was out on this boat, you see, all alone at night, when all of the sudden this huge creature, this giant crustacean from the Paleolithic Era, comes out of the water. It stood above us looking down with these big red eyes... ...and I yelled, I said, "What do you want from us, monster?" And the monster bent down, and said, "I need about tree-fitty." That's right. I said, "I ain't givin' you no tree-fitty, you goddamn Loch Ness Monster! Get your own goddamn money!"

Quoted: This, don't do something stupid no matter how tempting and well deserved. View Quote This. There’s too much evidence that can be used against you. Especially you posting on ARFCOM. Wait for the cops, talk to a lawyer, call your insurance. Accept the car is gone. Next time shut your mouth, have some friends you can trust and let justice happen. |

Buddies truck was stolen this way. Guy would drive his toe truck around during the day and pickup old cars out of people's driveways. Then he would take them to a scrap place. Apparently of they are a certain age or older their want any ownership paperwork involved. They finally caught the guy but he must have picked 100 cars

In before OP's friend is fired and subsequently arrested for accepting bribes and mis-use of CJI, and the prosecutor refuses to charge or the court dismisses the charges against the perp because the evidence was recovered subsequent to illegally obtained information.
Nice job, OP. |

Quoted: He was caught on camera, so I had his plates checked. Am waiting outside his place now for the cops to arrive. He used a tow truck to tow my car. Don’t see where the car is, he probably dropped it off somewhere before heading home. He lives in a large trailer park with a predominantly Hispanic population near Pearland. What would you do if you were in this situation? View Quote After checking where Pearland is................ ...........it's in Mexico. |
