What's your non mainstream car that you would own and drive?

I would put huge highway miles on this:

I saw this at a car show in Iowa like 5 years ago.

That would look sinister, don't forget to black out the windows.

I'll take a 63 Town car with the same treatment.

Maybe in wide scale mass production(or US produced). I think there was one early in the 20’s that was a FWD, but was obviously not large scale or particularly long lived, or an import. Might be a @stutzmech question.

That said, I love me some real full-size cars. Truly unappreciated nowadays.

That car looks exactly like one my brother had back before he got married.  His new bride made him get rid of it along with his matching 1970 442 and 442 convertible.

I have to wonder if that might not be the same Toronado?  The background in the photo suggests it is in North Carolina to me.

I loved that thing when it came out.
Then 1967 happened and they turned it into an ElDorado. The 1966 model was big and heavy enough already, thank you very much.

There was a Toronado at a car lot back when I was in my late teens that I wanted.  I can't remember the year but it had the headlights hidden behind the grill.  I drove it a couple of times and wished I could have gotten it.

My brother totaled one of these that was parked on the side of the road.  He dropped something in the floor, and leaned over to get it.  When he looked up, he was heading toward a parked 1977 King Cobra the dude had since high school.  Foot still buried in the gas, he jerked the steering wheel.  Hit the mustang with the front corner of an 88 ranger.  Knocked it into the boat tail.  Knocked the boat tail about 10ft on the second impact.  He was probably doing 40 at least when he hit them.

Loved those. Had an MK I way back. Loads of fun.

Love this web pic of a modded one -

Started reading about the MK1.5 motor swaps and started feeling that itch.

ETA:

Hah! Talk about coincidence! Just spoke about the MK1 MR2 I had, scrolled a little and see a car I raced against with my MR2. Same color but couldn’t tell if that car was a Mitsubishi nameplate or Chrysler nameplate; it was too far back in my rear view mirror to see!

Been paying attention to cars for over 40 years and even now I will see some obscure wagon built by the big 3 in the 60s that I never knew existed.

I'd love to drive something like this through South Beach. I'd catch the eye of a lot of rich people.

Side note - I lived in a suburb that was known as a cake eater city. The Pizza Hut guy drove a Porche. It was one of those crummy 941s from the 90s that didn't look too good but it was kind of funny to see it pull up with the Pizza Hut sign on the roof.
