My tired 855.
I need to rebuild it. Previous owner did not secure the air filter and dusted the motor. Lot's of blow by and very low compression. Still runs but requires the block heater to warm the engine and extended cranking. Once running it mows just fine. Needs a front loader. Attached File |

Quoted: I need to fix mine....one of the welds on one of the tabs is cracking. I filled mine with concrete....think I used 7.5 60 lb bags....so including the weight of the box, I think I'm close to 600 lbs. Totally different tractor with the ballast box (in a good way). I also turned up my hydraulic pressure. View Quote Same here, filled it with crete. Easiest and cheapest way to add weight, even if it ain't pretty. Sucks one of your welds is cracking. I haven't messed with my hydraulic pressure yet. I'm fighting the urge to modify or tune this like a bike, quad, vehicle. Quoted: Love my grapple. Just got through using it to pile a tree top that broke off in a storm. As kid, we'd have to wait for dad to cut it up then load it in trailer then unload it on the pile. Now just drive in position, close the hand and take the whole thing off in one piece. View Quote My grapple is one of my favorite implements, and I had the dealer add the 3rd SCV kit specifically for it. So much easier to cut firewood now. Attached File Attached File |

How big is the bucket? How many full buckets to fill an 8' PU bed?
A neighbor was fixing his driveway pavers and had his tractor out for moving sand and tamping them dowm. Kubota I think and a step down in size from yours. He said it was the best purchase he'd made in a long while. I think he put his lawn in with it. |

Playing with rocks.
The great thing about using a chain over the straps I used to use is I don't even have to get down to get the chain back. Set the rock down, tension comes off, maybe jiggle around a bit and the chain comes free. Attached File Attached File Attached File |

Quoted: Isn't construction attachments, Everything attachments older brother? EA was also in NC, outside of Charlotte. View Quote I saw it answered no above. Regardless mine has been perfect. I recommend getting one. I still use my bucket sometimes but the grapple stays in place more often than not. I prefer the 2 clamp style like I have. For odd shaped and tapered stuff if keeps a better hold. If anyone gets a Kubota, get Top and Tilt, a grapple, cruise control and the upgraded rear sway links. My Cousin has a 4 way bucket on his but I prefer the grapple + bucket. He can't grab the same size logs I can. Attached File |
