I watched that movie a million times when I was a kid. I always thought Saavik was an annoying nag and Kirk was the man.

When I rewatched a couple years ago I realized Kirk was an arrogant reckless horse's ass, and they were lucky he didn't get them all killed.

The Reliant was originally designed with the nacelles up top

But the producer looked at it upside down when he approved it.
The designers decided just to go with it.

As I understand it, he didn't know that as you said, but approved it because going up against the Enterprise fans watching would be able to tell the ships apart.

Sarah, my love for you is deathless.  It seems to bind me to you with cables that only omnipotence can break.

But shit, woman, it is cold as fuck up here.

Is Kahn's chest real? I say no but some reports say yes.  What says the hive?

Not the best SciFi, Kubrick disagrees.

Good movie yes, best sci-fi ever, no. Really good Sci-fi tells a story about current problems in a future setting that allows us to examine our reaction to those problems in new-light.
It helps to remove our biases in the way we solve the problems today by changing the context. Star Trek has successfully done this as a series, but I don't know that Star Trek 2, accomplished that goal.

Really good,sci-fi movies have hot women and lasers too

2001 and 2010 have to be my favourite sci fi.

I’d add the first Star Trek movie is fantastic. It’s my favourite of all of the star treks.

As entertaining as some of them are.

It was a story 20 years in the making, from TOS. Truly brilliant move.

I'm a big Star Trek fan, but Interstellar is GOAT. Acting and directing can't get much better than in that movie.

I saw a behind-the-scenes special and everyone that was interviewed said it was his real chest and that it was spectacular.

I have low expectations for GD, that’s why I am rarely disappointed.

Walter Koenig's acting inside the Botany Bay was awesome... you could see the confusion, the half-remembering, then the recognition, and then OH SHIT!!!!

It looks like it is Prime. It isn't always.. Maybe it is just me, I bought it.  The paid version was a bit different than the theatrical release. Kirk makes an ass of himself in sick bay when Scotty's nephew dies (sorry, no spoiler alerts on near 4 decade old movies), and that same nephew talks shit about Star Fleet command when Kirk arrives for inspection.

I'm mixed about it. It would have altered the flow of the scene, but it would have explained some plotholes.
