Trying to hotlink on a phone. Maybe it works. Maybe it don't. If it doesn't, search for it, it's easy to find. Looks really good. Mostly practical effects and models. |
I admit I'm starting to get really exited.
I hope that it can take me back to being a kid in 1977 and it feels the same without tons of CGI. |
Doesn't look like a trap.
Ooo, ooo, also, I got a good feeling about this. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Wow!
I saw the original in the theater when I was 7 y/o!! Wow... |
I like that they're using real sets and puppetry again, I hope they don't fuck this one up.

Mark Hamill looked decent, which is a relief, dude looked like shit a couple years ago.
I liked seeing physical storyboard models and the Falcon cockpit rolling around on gimbals filming an action scene, they're doing a lot of stuff right. |

December 18th can't come fast enough. I have to wash the filth of episodes 1-3 from my mind.
Actually that is a lie. I love the originals so much I could only choke through episode 1 and part of episode 2. |
Nerdgasm to the ^ 10. I LOVE that they are using tons of practical effects, models and costumes, just like the original movies. I have a very good feeling they aren't going to fuck this up.....unlike the prequels.

At first I thought it would be stupid. However, seeing how they are using good old fashion movie making use real props is a game changer. CGI still cannot give the film realism. I'm just surprised that the skills still exist to do it the right way.

I don't believe that was the new Star Wars. Where was the lens flare?
I'm not going to see it
fuck it after the horrible prequels and then re-editing (and fucking up) the original trilogy, they can go fuck themselves right in the ear |
Practical effects, a cast that believes in the product and paying homage to the original, and Han Solo in the Millennium Falcon?
Im so in. |
The best SW, is the SW not directed by George Lucas (esb)...I have high hopes for this one. JJ did a good job with the ST reboot, and at that time he admitted that growing up he was a SW fan and didn't like ST much. IMO is going to show in ep 7. Can't wait! Especially if the rumors of a Vader flashback sequence are true. Vader is the baddest (movie) mother****er of all time.

I wonder if Harrison Fords plane crash affected the progress of the film in any way.

In 1977, my dad took me to see Star Wars on the day it opened in the theater when I was 10.
I'm going to take him to see this on the day it opens. I can hardly wait. |

One afternoon I drove into town with my dad to buy a part for our broken swather. We got the part and were headed home when he saw that Star Wars was showing at the local theater. He said the swather could wait. We saw it that afternoon. I was 6 years old and that was the 5th time we had seen it in the theater.
I will take my boys to this one. |
I'm happy they went back to use practical effects. If it was that dumb fuck Lucas in charge, it'd all have been down with a green backdrop.

If this goes well we should see a Star Wars franchise that is as long legged as what Marvel is doing with Thor/Avengers/IronMan. God I really hope that is where Star Wars goes and is done how it should be done. |
This looks fantastic. 1/2/3 did not nearly capture that spirit that was in the 4/5/6 trilogy. Overuse of CGI, and just a lot of other things that didn't measure up. Sad really. This one looks like the heart of the story is coming back.
ETA, I was 10 in 77, and saw the thing a few times in the theater, and ESB, and ROJ as well. The heart of the characters was missing for the most part in the prequels. I just didn't care as much about them. This looks like that character association with the audience is going to be very big.
