So what were the X-wing pilot's rifles based on?

depends which of these they were

I just rewatched the scene with the brightness turned up. They were definitely the Hoth rifles, based on the StG44

I haven’t willingly watched wrestling since the days of Stone Cold raising hell 20 years ago, but one time I was watching my nephew and he had it on.  I spent the entire time surfing ARFCOM on my phone and then I glanced up and saw this:

Needless to say it held my attention for as long as she was on screen.

It did kind of annoy me that they were traveling sublight between star systems, not only that but when the cops pulled up next to him there happened to be a planet right below to escape to.

Oh well. Still the best thing on TV, and it ain't close.

Someone posted this about the planet on theforce.net about the planet's name.  Apparently the same planet he captured the Mythrol on in S1E1.  Something I wish they did was put a planet tag on screen like they did in Rogue One.

Thanks,  that would make sense.  Though I thought recovery of beskar to return to the covert seemed like a religious obligation.   Didn't think D-steel would warrant that.
And I wasn't sure his early Armor was d-steel, or aged beskar.   The paint I didn't know if it was for decoration/ uniform purposes.  Or to cover up aged beskar , that has begun to "lose its integrity" as mando says in season 1 "i may need to start over"
Jangos Armor was shiny in the prequels,  was later painted when boba wore it.  Most armor in the covert were painted, hard to tell what is d-steel or beskar but I assumed beskar because the blacksmith was staying behind to salvage the armor of the killed in the sewers.
In the new episode,  there is a close up of Mando helmet and it appears to be getting a patina,  so it made me wonder if Beskar broke down over time, the more abuse it's seen.  Then got a coat of paint.

Good point. So was the Beskar that Mando stole from Werner Herzog used to incorporate back into his old armor? It doesn't make sense that a metal as valuable as Beskar would be worthless after some amount of damage to it.

Mando and Heavy Infantry went at each other with vibroblades in the temple scuffle as well.  Armor held up.
I'm thinking it has to be beskar.   It's not indestructible,  so it has to wear down. Although very slowly.

I still don't know about the fighting to retrieve durasteel armor.   The beskar yes since it has a religious/ cultural significance as well.

I don't think worthless, just has to be reforged/tempered by someone who knows how to work with beskar. Which I'm assuming is a closely guarded secret with the mandos.

The original EU explained that they weren't lasers at all. They were plasma bolts. A Star Wars Blaster had a pressurized magazine of tibanna gas and a power pack. The blaster worked by turning the tibanna gas into a self contained bolt of super heated plasma. Could City in Bespin was a tibanna gas mining and processing facility. That's what Lando's business was all about. Harvesting tibanna gas from the atmosphere of Bespin. The Turbo Lasers (big guns) on a capital ship like a Kuat Drive Yards' Imperial Class Mark II Star Destroyer had huge reservoir of tibanna gas.

The Hapes Consortium had little access to tibanna gas so their capital ships, the Battle Dragons had weaker Turbo Lasers and had a rotary battery of guns since it took longer for them to charge up. They used a different gas to ionize into plasma.

In Star Wars Rogue Squadron for the N64, one of the missions if taking back Cloud City from the Empire after ROTJ so the New Republic can have a steady supply of tibanna gas.

That's cannon.  Don't remember if I saw it in one of the cartoons or read it in one of the new books.  I think it may have been the TIE pilot turned X-Wing pilot book.
