There was one in the season 1 episode when he met Cara Dune.  It hissed at baby yoda.

Morai the owl was also sitting on a tree branch in this episode too... which was a great episode!

Watching this episode beskar seemed pretty damn lightsaber proof.  Especially considering his gauntlets have doodads on them.  Not to mention the spear was taking full power shots.

What a dope episode.  Michael Biehn, HK-87 droids, Ashoka being a bad ass, and another whopper of a name drop.

Dave filoni verified arf member with the HK-87 reference.

I think Thrawn will probably be the baddie in the Ahsoka series rather than this one.

Be fun to see Tython again, not sure it's been mentioned in anything other than SWTOR, cool they're bringing that stuff in.

Still holding out hope for Sabine/Ezra. It's not like they can split Mando and Grogu up anyway though.

The “assault” gave me a Soldier vibe, very guerrilla warfare feel and fading into the smoke, popping up taking a few out at a time.

Also, Kyle Reese.

ETA: were those blaster rifles modeled after the old Browning BARs?

Thanks, I sees it now. I think. Looked like a dead tree branch to me but I saw it’s head move.

Ok, so which Jedi are we running into next week or the week after at the Jedi Temple?

Maybe I was expecting too much, but this episode was a bit of a let down IMO.

Action was OK.

Story was maddening.

Mando: here’s a powerful Jedi youngling that the empire is trying to kidnap for nefarious purposes.

Ahsoka after several decades of resisting the empire: take him to a hill and see if something happens.

I don’t know. You’d think she’d want to be a little more invested than that.

Awesome episode. Rosario Dawson nailed the action sequences. I wish her lekku were longer, but it probably would’ve been impractical to do. Plus that huge name drop with the Rebels tie-in...

She got pretty fucked over by the Jedi order. I would have liked to see her a little more excited about the Child but I understand why she wants to keep her distance.

So, what Jedi are left in SW at this point? Besides Ahsoka, is it only Luke and Ezra (since Ahsoka is looking for Thrawn) that we know of?

Agreed. Ahsoka was a lot more of an aggressive fighter in CW & Rebels than she was in this episode. Live action has limitations, but there are ways around it.

There’s been talk of bringing Luke into the series.

This would have been the right time frame for him to start looking for students for his new academy.

I had hoped that the skywalkers would be left out of this series.

Known Jedi in current canon are Luke, Ezra, Cal Kestis, and presumably Leia is being trained. There are a few others from novels and comics but I doubt they'll dig that deep.
Ahsoka said Grogu could choose his path, so it's not necessarily a Jedi that'll show up. Bendu and Mother Talzin were defeated but not killed. Could also get the Force ghost of Yoda, Obi-wan, or Anakin. Samuel L Jackson has said before he thinks Mace Windu survived, and we have seen numerous Jedi handling high falls without a problem before.
Or nothing happens and he's raised as a Mando foundling.

Bendu and Mother Talzin aren't Jedi.  I haven't watched the latest episode yet, but at the end of Rebels Ahsoka wasn't Jedi either.

Seems much more realistic to me. But I was raised on the originals.  Jedi didn’t get super speed until the prequels.   Yea, there were force jumps and push, pulls but nothing like later.  I like that it looks like they have to put forth a little effort.

A couple observations. Ahsoka is very well played as a wise Ahsoka in Rebels. Secondly, at the end of Rebels, Ahsoka find Sabine and tasks her to find Ezra. I honestly think this episode happened BEFORE that scene. That scene in Rebels is clearly an obvious time jump.

I predict at some point we will see Cal or Ezra, but not in this series. It may be likely we see Luke or Leigha in this series, but I have a feeling there will be more mysteries and Mando will try to reunite baby yoda with his species. I don't think he will be ever trained in the force. I think someone wiped his memory which is why he didn't remember all the details.

The best thing about this episode is that it WASNT fan service. It was a perfect amount of Ahsoka. Not too much or not too little. There was also a lot of character development. It left us wanting more. 10/10

Rosario Dawson played the part very well.

I thought they did her makeup and headdress as well as could be expected. As far as speeding up her actions, I don't want that. Everyone does lightning fast summersaults in Clone Wars, that's just part of the conceit of a cartoon. I loved the way they played her.

The brain tails looked a little fake, but that's because they probably were.

Honestly, with some better choreography, they wouldn’t have needed to speed anything up.

The Ahsoka/Maul duels in CWS7 we’re some of the best duels in the CW and they were all live action capture. People can do fast and aggressive with the right choreography.

After that, the Ahsoka/Elsbeth duel just seems lazy.

Rosario clearly studied the cartoons with some of the mannerisms, some the expressions were spot on, her voice was the only thing that didn't feel right since isn't wasn't Ashley.

Overall I was pleased with the cartoon to live action transition.  Nothing like this will ever be perfect, I can't think of any other cross media translations that did as well. If they bring Cal Kestis to live action it will translate better because of how they created the character.
