So the specific laws/bans/actions that FL state and local governments took in the last few years aren't bans to be concerned about?

Florida local governments aren't allowed to enact their own bans.  Over 20 years ago, well before DeSantis, well before the state become reliably red, an amendment was passed to the state constitution that allows local governments to establish a three- to five-day waiting period for the sale of firearms at any place to which the public has access. This would include retail establishments as well as gun shows, gun exhibits and collector's shows. In addition, the amendment allows each county to require a criminal history records check in connection with the sale of any firearm occurring in the county. That is the ONLY thing localities are allowed to do wrt guns and there's nothing the state government can do about it.

Didn't y'all elect two Democratic Senators? Atlanta runs Georgia now. Just like Chicago's been running Illinois for years. If you don't like that, better get your state senate reapportioned to protect rural interests.

do you know how state government works?

Cause what you posted has shit all to do with it. Our state government is still very red and Atlanta doesn't run that in the slightest.

Trump's stupidity.....or i should say Trump's followers stupidity is why we have two democrat senators. (while in the last election our republican governor kicked the shit out of the left's pick)

The good news for us is that 6 of the 7 states that fall under the auspices of the 8th Circuit Court are red states. Our liberal shithole is the only blue one. 17 of the 18 judges that comprise the 8th Circuit are republican nominees. Thanks to Bruen it should be easy here to slap down unconstitutional legislation.

Does or does not Florida have state-level red flag laws and bans on under 21 persons purchasing firearms?

And again, that was passed 5 years ago and is not an indicator of where the state is right now.  Florida politics have changed pretty drastically in the last few years.  Which the author would know if he'd actually done any research beyond looking it up on Google.

It goes beyond guns. The same states are trying to ban internal combustion automobiles and gas appliances and heaters. The ban knob has been cranked way up lately.

Like this part;

It didn’t help that a supposed “originalist,” the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, took it on himself to volunteer in the Heller case that the Second Amendment] "is no limitation upon arms control by the states," and then to imply banning weapons such as "M-16 rifles and the like" would not be an infringement. Otherwise, he asserted, "it would mean that the National Firearms Act's restrictions on machineguns ... might be unconstitutional, machineguns being useful in warfare in 1939." Bingo! What the hell else would it be?

That’s not at all what Heller said. To make that statement means this “Author” never actually read the ruling & is parroting liberal BS handpicked out of context like they love to do.

Also, why is WI light green? What does that even mean? We have no restrictions on Semi or Full Auto (outside of NFA BS) & that is not about to change anytime soon.

Florida has some statutes that are worse than you'd expect to find here and constitutional carry has been getting stonewalled for years by Republicans in the state legislature. Rick Scott signed a gun control bill right before he stepped into his senate seat, we're steadily developing the same "lots of sparse red counties overruled by blue cities" problem as everywhere else, and I'm a little concerned about succession once DeSantis either runs for president or terms out.

Making a little more sense yet?

State's rights don't apply to apply to what is in the Constitution. Drugs, traffic laws, abortion are not in the Constitution, that goes to the states. Guns are in the Constitution, not a state power. But I'm not a lawyer.

There is exactly zero chance the ballot box can restore the Constitution because the original voting and electoral system was subverted LONG ago.

Va will have the Va Safe Act as soon as the Democrats retake the state after Youngkin. Remember kids, the Democrats that voted against Va's AWB didn't do so because they were against it, only because they weren't sure how to implement it.

I was one of those assholes that was all Muh near Super Majority in the House hurr durr. Then Trump got elected and the Va Democrats went fucking insane and came out to vote. Also didn't help that the GOP drew shitty maps that got struck down by a liberal judge that then assigned a liberal college professor to redraw the maps, surprising leading to liberal favored maps.

Redistricting heavily favored the Democrats this time around. Va is true and properly fucked after Youngkin. Maybe even with if a big enough shooting happens since Youngkin seems to think he can be president.

Hell if I am remembering right, the Va Constitution is stronger on the 2A than the fed level, but democrats don't give a shit.

Ohio just stripped cities of their ability to pass these kinds of bans. Columbus had passed a ban on magazines over 29 rounds. Took the state less than 6 months to slap that down with new legislation.

Doubt

If you knew anything about the current state in IL, you'd know that no amount of downstate gun owners showing up at the capital would matter.  The D's did even more redistricting last year and gave themselves even more seats around Chicago.  A handful of counties hold a supermajority in the house and senate, there is no voting or protesting your way out of what's coming here.  Below is a map of IL counties and how they voted in the last election.....it should give you a little better insight into what's happening.  Cook and the surrounding counties will dictate what happens in this state.

And a rapid-fire device ban: trigger cranks, "Hyperfire" devices, binary triggers, etc. are banned and its a felony to possess one- none have been repealed nor is there any serious effort by any Republicans to repeal the Trump-approved gun control that Rick Scott signed so FL isn't the perfect 2A paradise that some here want to believe it is. It may be great now compared to Colorado and some other states but it doesn't deserve to be in the same dark green status as other states on that map.
