I think people from the .45 camp are typically older people, set in their ways, and unable to adapt to new technology i.e. the 357Sig. These people have just recently hopped on the .40 bandwagon because they wanted higher capacity than the .45 and needed to know for sure that the cartridge will not go extinct (playing it safe). I imagine many of them got burned on the .41Mag and have a fear of repeat with the 357Sig. They also idealize their firearm collections as "complete" and do not need any additional "nonsense" calibers fouling up their "perfect" arsenals. I could be wrong, but I have a feeling I'm in the ball park on several points. 9 MM LUGER+P 125 GR. JHP 1250FPS 434FT/LBS 4.0" BARREL 357 SIG 125 GR. JHP 1425FPS 564FT/LBS 4.0" BARREL 9MM VS 357Sig Most +P rounds are 115gr and not 125gr like the 357Sig. 9MM +P is just not capable of matching the 357Sig. You see a lot of 125gr in the 1400FPS range in the 357Sig, not even close to that speed in 9mm unless you step down to 115gr bullets. |
