Faux pleather that will look like shit in 2-3 years. Not a bad design and color scheme though, I will give them that.

View Quote I dunno, my old Passat TDI had pleather and it lasted from 2013 until they were forced to buy it back. My 4Runner has pleather and it's 4 years old now. Stuff has come a long way since the 80's. |

The back seat honestly looks more appealing than the front. And that’s not a negative comment on the visual appearance of the front seats

The 40 decibel noise reduction, multiple microphone and audio zones built into the rear for meetings, air ride suspension...etc are all meant for someone to realistically spend more time in the back of one of those than ever driving one. They are super fun to drive too though. |

What’s the price?
If I want an S class that’s not an S class I’ll get a 7 Series. |
|
It's nice to see the manual controls for HVAC, etc.... Now if they would just do the same for basic audio controls.

The Genesis G90 looks to be an awesome automobile in its own right.
IMHO... certainly in the same class as a Mercedes (AMG excluded) Motorweek just did a test drive of the car and came away thoroughly impressed. |

Does it need oil changes every 3k cause everything in its life is severe?

@LittlePony
You mentioned in the oil change thread about Hyundai and Kia being 'Korea Value Brands', with cheaper materials (to paraphrase), thus needing more frequent oil changes vs some of the better built Japanese brands (Toyota). How does Genesis compare? Is the overall quality there vs. high end Euro/Japanese cars? Thanks! |

I find the claims a bit dubious that its not detectable if a issue arose View Quote It can be pretty obvious that a piggyback was installed because sensor values will be constantly out of "normal" range, but it's certainly not as simple as a flash tune that writes a value to the ECU. The manufacturer would likely need to do some analysis into the ECU logs to see it, and when it gets to that point either the manufacturer is digging for any reason to not pay warranty because they are cheap, you pissed someone off, or there are more obvious signs that it was likely modified like having a sticker with the name of your instagram where you are doing donuts shortly before blowing up the engine. |

View Quote Genesis gets the best quality control and the finest materials off the shelf in our inventory. They have their own R & D department their own subdivisions in factories, They even have their own platforms. However Genesis at its heart is completely Korean therefore it is very focused on value. so there is still a lot of engineering compromises but perhaps less so compared to Hyundai or Kia, Maybe they have longer oil change intervals than us or not I could not say I don't have any access to their internal documentation. They are a very different kind of premium brand. They are a value premium brand. which is something that has been quite rare, Most brands that were went bankrupt during the great depression all the options of your highest end trim competitors but not at a price that feels like a rip off You could say that the whole brand is targeting frugal rich people that are responsible with their money and have Asian tastes, Who want something nice but can't see justifying spending a 120000 something dollars on an S class Mercedes Yet also do not want to deal with barren Japanese premium vehicles They are the only brand on the market right now like that. @AFARR |
