Quoted: Yeah, except this doesn't do any of that. It crosses the line of Tacky, and goes solidly into the heart of Hilarity. It honestly looks like something the Talibs would throw together to “Commemorate”. View Quote Great point, had this been pulled through a Middle Eastern country how would it appear? |

Did you hear the voice of the Beta in the second video. His feminine little voice saying "Its a little fucked up????" The little faggot is not sure if he is offended yet, but thinks this is the perfect opportunity to be... |

A parade float idea that bad is not from one person.
It involves a group psychosis. All that's missing is burning Barbie and Ken dolls falling out the smoldering building holes. |
|
It's a little over the top but it bothers me less than people referring to 9/11 as a "tragedy" instead of the attack that it was. For some people, 9/11 is something that is still happening. For others, it's "Some people did something twenty years ago."

Quoted: It's a fucking parade at a popcorn festival, about as far from an appropriate venue for something like that as you can get. There are plenty of ways to honor those who died on 9/11 that aren't nearly that classless. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Sometimes people need to be reminded of what actually happened. Some of the soldiers killed last month were not even born when it happened. Evil needs to be shown what it is. And sometimes the suffering of people is what it takes to make sure that history isn't forgotten. 9/11 wasn't "just some people doing something" and most Islam isn't the religion of peace. If showing the burning buildings with heart wrenching last words is what it takes for people to realize what were facing as a country, and world. Then so be it. Yeah no, it's still tasteless and a terrible idea. Because reminding people of the horrible truth is bad? Sorry, but it was not a happy flag-waving event filled with inspirational music. 9/11 was a savage terrorist attack It's a fucking parade at a popcorn festival, about as far from an appropriate venue for something like that as you can get. There are plenty of ways to honor those who died on 9/11 that aren't nearly that classless. Pretty sure the date makes it appropriate. I don't think the purpose of the float is to honor the victims, but to remind the survivors of the horror of the attack. Wasn't involve, don't care that much but I don't understand the outrage |

Now I'm starting to see how they ended up thinking Mike Pence was a fantastic governor...

The choice between commies and retards has been going on for a while. I don't enjoy voting.

We had a thread here the other day "Where were you when the first tower was struck". I'm going to assume the that GOP group was trying bring out that type of feeling/memory so that people didn't forget the horror of what happened but they executed that poorly.

How many people were involved in that and they all thought it was a good idea?

Yep, let’s not remember exactly what happen… Let’s cry bad Republican….. Y’all are silly…. Did it bother you when you saw them fall… Some here, I say not. |

Quoted: If you think this was stupid then what do you think the appropriate float for 9/11 would be? View Quote Some things are not "float"able, out of respect. Floats are whimsical, silly or whatnot. 9/11 is not a good centerpiece for a middle schoolers attempt at... whatever, with chicken wire and paper mache. This is like having a holocaust themed birthday cake ffs. |

Jesus Christ... I'm surprised they weren't playing Dave Matthew's Band "Crash", or Third Eye Blind's "Jumper".

Even trying to comment on this is like looking for the clean end of a turd to pick up.

Some of the responses in here demonstrate how this thing makes it through.
Some people just don't have good judgement and when you have a bubble of such people, this comes out. |

Quoted: Its a solemn reminder of that day. Same as the Arizona at Pearl Harbor that still has sailors entombed in it. Tourists flock there to watch fuel oil bubble out and take pictures. View Quote That is a terrible comparison. There is a (very well done) memorial at the site of the WTC in New York that millions of people visit and take pictures of every year. That is completely different from having a tacky float in a parade. A better comparison to Pearl Harbor would be painting a kayak grey, putting cardboard gun turrets on it, and having a propane fire coming out of it with “USS Arizona” written in sharpie on the side and little model Zeros twirling above it. Being pulled by some mouth-breathing boomer in a Toyota Tundra in the local ‘sugar beet days festival’ or some other completely unrelated crap like that. |

Fucking Valpo strikes again.
I grew up near there, and you will not find a more pointless town in Indiana. The only thing worth a damn there was the cornfed coed Indiana Country Poon to be found at the college, and you could still do better if you went to Laporte County. |
