Was talking to a friend last night about "WAY too early" predictions and such. Saw one ESPN commentator put the final four at "USC/FSU/OSU/and an SEC team".
Yeah, well....I won't go that far. But I told him my way early prediction.....I am not going to be surprised if Big Blue has Ohio St's number this year. Yup, I can see that happening. Nothing to lose and everything to gain for one team.....and nothing to gain and everything to lose for the other. |

They may keep it close for awhile as its a rivalry game, but i expect OSU to pull away late. |

Look at Saban's Bama and Meyer's Ohio.....several years. However, I'm saying they will begin to "click" by the end of this year. Plus it's a rivalry game. I don't even count out the craptastic gators any year, including the last couple when they've been horrible. Call me crazy...but I put this years Michigan/Ohio St game at a solid 50/50 chance. We'll have to see how crazy I am later this year |

Last year what were they like a 6 loss team and it was tied in the 4th quarter or close to it? The year before they went for 2 and lost/missed for the win. too close. |

Quoted: It might be. First game under a new coach with a new offense and anything can happen. But BYU is not what keeps me up at night. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Here, these videos will help you guess which one it will be: Riley has already faced BYU three times since 2009, so he probably will know what to expect. Then again, Mack Brown had played BYU before, and it didn't help him much. |

OSU was in a slightly different position for their "rebuild". Most coaches get fired for losing, When Tressel resigned/got fired he had a 12-1 team that won the a sugar bowl against God's conference. Fickell's garbage 6-7 season (2011) featured 5 losses of 7 points or less, the only 2 losses that were more than a score away featured the "skills" of QB Joe Bauserman. May bad things happen to him. Vs. Mami (fl) Bauserman 2-14, 13 yards Miller 2-4, 22 yards (burned miller's redshirt) Vs. Nebraska Miller 5-8, 95 yards Bauserman 1-10, 13 yards (miller got hurt) http://i.imgur.com/EHSKuPs.jpg If OSU was able to keep Terrelle Prior for his senior season I'm confident they'd have won all of those games. 2009 11-2 2010 12-1 2011 6-7 <---Only time OSU finished outside of the top 25 in 15 seasons 2012 12-0 2013 12-2 2014 14-1 View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Who knows though, hes a first round pick IMO. He will probably leave if projected 1st overall or something like that but OSU has been returning a lot of draftable guys. Nobody left early last year. I'd love to see 2 bosas sandwich a qb in 2016, but there's a lot of other talent out there that would probably start over little bosa. |

I was really surprised to see FSU inside the top 10, I was thinking they'd have us somewhere 11-15.

EPSNU is replaying Auburn vs Texas A&M from last year.
I love watching our offense and I'm excited to see how all these youngsters developed over the summer. But I have to admit, despite how the game turned out, I turned it off when they put up the "Auburn: 4/5 on 3rd down conversions" stat. Yup, that was our defense. Thanks for the reminder, hoping I'm done watching that level defense for a while. |

Yeah, too many unknowns for Auburn to be ranked this high also. Negatives - New Quarterback, new running back, new center, suspect defense. Positives - Malzahn's Offense, Muschamp/Trob/Thompson defensive coaching, lots of talent. |

Losing 3 projected defensive starters to team violations preseason killed us. Here's a little quote from our 2014 preseason depth chart: The initial A&M defensive line rotation should feature nine players, four of whom are true freshmen (and two are true sophomores). The primary backups at two of the three linebacker positions are true freshmen, and there is a strong possibility that a freshman will be starting at both cornerback and free safety when the Aggies take the field Plus our defensive scheme was known to be overly complicated. It amounted to a bunch of high school kids trying to play in the SEC. That's a pretty steep learning curve. Chavis is the man and should have us at least in the top 50% of defenses overall this year. That might not sound like much but after being ranked in the triple digits that's a marked improvement. 1 additional defensive stop in the Missouri and LSU games last year would have been huge since the games were decided by 7 & 6 points. We are still young even this year but now we are filled with a bunch of sophomores and juniors who gained a lot of playing experience last year. Our defensive line is going to be very good this year. We finally have some depth. Pressure on the QB and in the backfield will result in improved results at linebacker and in the secondary. With our offense we don't have to be dominating on defense. Just a good solid unit. 9-3 this year is not out of the question. Matching last years 8-4 mark would actually be disappointing. |
