Speaking of student athletes getting into trouble, this whole Baylor rape thing might blow up now that he's been convicted. Not so much for the fact that a player raped a girl, but how the school treated her afterwards.
article from sbnation Long and short of it is guy may or may not have had sexual assault issues at Boise, transfers to Baylor. Unclear if Baylor knew about his issues. Transfers to Baylor, female athlete at Baylor accuses him of rape. She makes her allegations known to the school, is suffering from PTSD and seeing a school councilor. They don't move him out of classes or tutoring sessions the two share and her scholarship is reduced (possibly for other reasons, but it's unclear why her scholarship was reduced because no one has clarified yet). She eventually leaves Baylor, he plays last season, was expected to play again this year, was recently convicted for the rape that happened back in 2013. Ugly situation if the school didn't take her allegations seriously, or tried to punish her for accusing a player of rape. Baylor denies knowing about his issues before he transferred in, even though Boise had documented violence issues with him and a girlfriend and sent him to anger management. Big old clusterfuck of who said what when and who knew what when. |

Un-fucking real. The state attorney got caught trying to pull fast one at jury selection today for the Dalvin Cook case. They tried to introduce "new evidence" that they didn't provide the defense during discovery which is a violation. But that's not what is so unreal. Turns out the Twitter account they tried to introduce was a fake account. Now they're manufacturing evidence to prop up this bullshit case?!
Last I read one of the "eye witnesses" has already been shown by the defense that they were never even there. Case is on Monday....I'm betting it's over by late lunch time. Horse shit. Oh, did I mention that the Willie Meggs (the States attorney) daughter was part of the jury pool? What the fuck is that? Cook's lawyer: are you related to Willie Meggs? Juror: yes, I'm his daug.... Cook's lawyer: DISMISSED! |

When the head coach says this :
"I think the receivers stink," Fisher said. "I ain’t lying. They don’t get open. They ain’t catching the ball. Can’t count on them – right now. As a group." It might mak your butt pucker. Ffffffffuuuuuuuuuu |
|
Hmmmmm, I may have to rethink our projected wins this year. Apparently Jimbo Fisher wasn't bluffing when he said the team stinks. Just talked to a guy who's been watching practice all week and got a complete analysis and basically said we look like the 2011 team, we just suck.
Nothing is clicking. This is frustrating. So much talent but apparently it's unrefined at this point. Even said Golson didn't look that good this week. There is a scrimmage today so hopefully things change. Dang it, had high hopes for this year. |

Today is the last Saturday this entire year a div 1 game won't be played.
Think I'll go to the pool one more time, because my Saturday's after this are booked. |

Originally I thought this year was gonna be ~7 wins during the transition/rebuild from Agent Muschamp's tenure. Gators are going to compete for the SEC championship, book it. When Mac has got our TEs and WRs getting space and making plays on the best secondary in the nation, it's like wow. The O has actually been having success against our very stout defense during camps. Grier is threading needles and hasnt thrown any picks or turned it over yet. Also with Geoff Collins working with much more talent, the defense is going to be particularly nasty. Blitzes, blitzes everywhere! Terrorize opposing QBs, cant throw it either cuz VH3 and Neele will be right there for that pick 6.
Trying not to get my hopes up too high, but the past couple weeks have just been awesome news. Even spring camp there were good signs. |

Even through I am a Georgia fan, I don't think they will finish in the top 10.
Not having a picked a starting QB with 2 weeks to go doesn't inspire much confidence in the Offense. The running game should be just fine with Nick Chubb and 4 of 5 O linemen returning but you still need a QB who can provide a middle to long yardage threat. Without that the capacity, teams will stuff the box to stop the run. I have heard some good and bad things about the Defense so I have no clue how they will do in Coach Pruitt's second year. Hopefully they will improve their pass coverage. And of course there is the CMR effect, which means they will lose at least one game they should not. Monk |

You know, where EVERYONE is proclaiming how awesome their team is going to be. How quickly was it that I acknowledged their mediocrity? Page 11? I was foolish to think Agent Muschamp was going to let Roper run his offense. -ETA- went back and read 2014. VERY 1st page I immediately started talking about how much garbage Musc is and how he needs to fuck off. You should have tried reading before posting. How did that #5 ranked Auburn team ended up finishing btw? Oh yeah... With the same record as the Gators (if UF's second cupcake game wasnt rained out). |
