You guys are screwed.
Even if you beat Clemson all these talking heads would put Stanford in over yall if they beat USC.
Or you beat Clemson and Michigan St beats Iowa and then Ohio St or Stanford get in.

Better root for USC to eliminate 1 of the threats.

I've heard their max is 3 million a year. You say lots of money but that ain't shit for coaches nowadays. How the hell could they afford that with that empty ass stadium? Our medium size high school games get that many people.

Told you it was going to happen.  USC has to win for us to get in.

tOSU is simply not getting in over UNC if we win this weekend.  UNC will have the better win, the better SOS, and a conference championship.

They're still paying Al Golden until 2019 I think. They need an on or nearby campus stadium ASAP, FIU has a better set up than they do.

Doesn't central Florida as well? Ya they sucked this year. Very badly but they hired Frost away from Oregon. I'm excited as a Husker to see what he can do on his own.

Hey, let them have their bit of delusion.

As long as Alabama wins, tOSU doesn't have a shot.  All the (IMO, justified) criticism that is being directed at OU for not having a championship game this week should be directed tenfold at tOSU for failing to win their division and not even making their championship game this weekend.

tOSU being idle this week will be jumped UNC should they beat the team that's been #1 for the entire 2015 CFP ranking.  UNC just needs to hope USC can beat Stanford.

That said, all this is moot if Clemson wins.

There are two separate and unrelated issues here. Who is the better team, and what the "playoff" committee rankings are. The latter is not necessarily the same as the former, and it is not wise to treat them the same. Who is #2 ought to be Iowa, assuming Iowa and Bama both win their championships. Undefeated trumps a win over a horribly pathetic contender for a conference championship. IMO. Who is the 2nd best team is more likely to be Bama. Although I'm still unimpressed with Clemson. I've been waiting for them to stumble all year. How about:
1 - Oklahoma
2 - Alabama
3 - Iowa
4 - Clemson
5 - MSU
6 - OSU
7 - ND
8 - Stanford

That's my current selection. But it's a hard choice between OU and UA.

AJC reporting Kirby Smart will be Georgia's Head Coach

ATHENS — Barring a last-minute snag in negotiations, Alabama’s Kirby Smart will become Georgia’s new football coach. An announcement could come as soon as Sunday or Monday.

Smart, 39, is the Crimson Tide’s defensive coordinator. He is from Bainbridge and was a UGA letterman (1995-98) and team captain as a senior.

Lots of reports that Smart will basically be absolutely gutting Bamas coaching staff. Bringing lots of coaches with him. Also apparently trying to snag musk as the dc as well. Will be very interesting to see how it plays out.

I despise that Big12 bullshit so much I hope Clemson, Bama and either Iowa or Michigan State all win convincingly and then Stanford just destroys USC and the committee has just enough of a bad taste in their mouth about Oklahoma sitting at home they move Stanford in the top 4 in place of Oklahoma.
Just like what happened to TCU last year. I think TCU last year just might have been the best team in the nation and Oklahoma is dam good this year but screw them and their special conference.

LOL
I know. I'm torn on that as I think NC deserves it if they beat Clemson.
My concern is after listening to those guys yesterday on the playoff ranking show is that no matter what NC does they are screwed. Those 2 FCS games and that loss to SC is haunting them. Therefore my best hope is to screw the conference who believes they are special.

The whole problem is and I'm sure everybody here agrees is, the National Championship is being somewhat decided in an office and not on the field like it should be.
Playoff expansion is the only way to resolve this. 8 teams would cover all the deserving teams. The argument of then #9 and 10 would be whining doesn't wash as that far down its too diluted.
Not to say 16 would be bad as those additional games could take the place of some of these bullshit 5-7 teams getting bowl bids but I'll settle for 8.

Possibly back to Bama..........he played there and was a part of a couple of NC teams. I'd suspect he will get a call in the next day or so. He was rumored to want the DC job before he left, and this might possibly be his chance to get it............If I were hiring, I'd call him and keep Tucker as secondary coach since he's done a great job with the DBs this year

Some UGA sources are saying that Pruitt wont be retained, and that Muschamp is headed to UGA with Smart

The SEC getting left out, especially when it's Bama would cause a stir and help get things moving towards expansion. I can see the Saban press conference when he's asked about losing the Champinship game and falling out when Oklahoma got in by sitting at home.
He's the 1 who might stroke out if that happened.

Most Georgia folks are saying Pruitt is leaving Georgia for sure, so that means a lateral move to another SEC DC position or possibly HC at South Carolina
Rumors abound Muschamp leaving Auburn to be Georgia's DC.

Just like what happened to TCU last year. I think TCU last year just might have been the best team in the nation and Oklahoma is dam good this year but screw them and their special conference.

You are going to have a stroke if Florida wins. lol

The SEC getting left out, especially when it's Bama would cause a stir and help get things moving towards expansion. I can see the Saban press conference when he's asked about losing the Champinship game and falling out when Oklahoma got in by sitting at home.
He's the 1 who might stroke out if that happened.
It would be glorious.

Most Georgia folks are saying Pruitt is leaving Georgia for sure, so that means a lateral move to another SEC DC position or possibly HC at South Carolina
Rumors abound Muschamp leaving Auburn to be Georgia's DC.

So if Smart goes to UGA, what happens with Pruitt? Work with Smart or maybe head back to Bama to be DC with Saban?

I could definitely see him going back to Bama. I know there have been rumors that the Georgia folks aren't happy with him but I have no idea how valid that is.

These next couple weeks are going to be crazy coaching-wise.

Y'al think splitting up and having a North and South and then having those two play it off is better than everyone playing each other?

It's pretty much a consensus on here that its bullshit how the Big12 does it.
What does it matter if you play 9 conference games vs 8?
Bama played Wisconsin in place of that other conference game.
A&M played Arizona St.
Florida played Florida St.
Those are tougher opponents that Kansas or Texas. Shit Whisky could whip Kansas, Texas, Iowa St, Texas Tech, Kansas St and give a few other Big12 members grief.

The big thing is the extra game. Off weeks are huge. That's the part it appears people don't grasp.

Oklahoma is playing lights out football but I also hate that the Big 12 doesn't have a CC game

Texas again

So do you think the other 4 conferences should drop their CC games?

lol

The bowl games will be played on Jan 1. There are going to be lots of off weeks coming up. It isn't like everyone is playing next week.

Texas played the hardest schedule in the nation, so what does that have to do with anything?

Again, if there is a consensus, who should OU play?

Baylor
And don't give me the shit about them already having played this year.
So have Stanford and USC.
Every year there are repeats of regular season games. That's 1 reason I say do away with championship games and expand the playoffs.
