Yeah, this was a total "accident" by the selection committee. Cocksuckers want to pit the two "coaches of the year" against each other, and all that crap.

I think it could be a good game actually.

I'll watch it.

Well. The interesting thing, it can be used as a gauge point for two years from now.

Aside from the obvious storyline, this is essentially T=0. Then when we open 2017 playing each other it'll be T=2. Who made more progress in that time?

Now we'll have a direct comparison point for gauging progress.

The Aggies own the all-time series against Louisville 3-0, having played them three straight years from 1992-1994. The Cardinals are coached by former Arkansas football coach and amateur motorcyclist Bobby Petrino.

Not with a wide receiver playing QB
Are all the REAL QB's still going to be out in a month?

Why would they be afraid to play Clemson.

If OU wins, then quarterback Bobby Mayfield.... I mean Conner Mayfield's gonna chuck and run that ball all over the field against Alabama.

Looks like B1G has 9 teams in bowls, plus the 'playoff.' Looking at the matchups, I think they mostly look favorable. Although I must disregard any team with a losing record - I'm looking at you, Huskers and Gophers. Excluding those pretenders, I think B1G will have a good record in the bowls. This is a better year for several of the teams (not including my Badgers ).

Why can NCAA not exert some control and restrict the number of bowls, so only teams with a winning record get in? No more .500 teams, please. Why make Nebraska suffer any more than they already have this season?

This.

I think of it like school grades.  50% means you just failed the class. No 6 win team should ever play a bowl.

I'm not taking anything for granted, the B1G could pull an SEC West and get dismantled in the bowl season.

Looking into some of the matchups and saw that Ohio State had the most points in B1G conference play AND allowed the fewest (tie with the Badgers).  Ugh.

Whatever.  College football isn't about football anymore, it is about money.  Specifically, money for ESPN so that they can pay morons like Mark May to talk about football.

Big 8, Big East, Southwest conferences gone.

Nebraska-Oklahoma, gone.

Texas-Texas A&M, gone.

Michigan-Notre Dame, gone.

WVU in the fucking Big 12.

All that shit is worse than the current bowl abomination.

the fact of the matter is that Muschamp is a transitional coach for them. They're hoping to get a few good years of recruiting out of him, and then move on to a longer-term solution.

He's their Ron Zook.

I am happy Coach Smart is returning to Athens.
I don't think there is could be a better prepared first time head coach than him.

It will be interesting to see how he builds his staff and how he organizes the program.
Lots of folks, myself included, are excited about him bring over Scott Cochran to run the Strength/Conditioning program.

Why?
Vegas only opened FSU as a 6.5 point favorite.
It's not like you are expected to blow them out.
They would be 12-0 if Greg Ward didn't sit out 1 game nursing an injury.

I  guess well see how far off I am. 6.5 points?.....they'll cover that by mid-first quarter and never look back.

FSU will be up by 3 TDs or more and then they'll pull the starters.

Only thing that will hurt FSU is they really having nothing to "play for". No statements to be made by winning this game. Houston on the other hand..... Gur-ran-teeeeee they would love to put that feather in their cap of chopping down a Goliath like that from a power-5

I don't think there is could be a better prepared first time head coach than him.

It will be interesting to see how he builds his staff and how he organizes the program.

Lots of folks, myself included, are excited about him bring over Scott Cochran to run the Strength/Conditioning program.

Y'all just don't have football luck.  Richt is going to turn Miami around and y'all are going to be jelly.

A few drinks in.....Just came back to say our bowl selection is BS.

fuck Houston

I'm bitter.

Also, my earlier prediction before the selection committee came out....I stand by it.

Why?
Vegas only opened FSU as a 6.5 point favorite.
It's not like you are expected to blow them out.
They would be 12-0 if Greg Ward didn't sit out 1 game nursing an injury.

Isn't U of H 12-2 all time against "Goliath" FSU?

It's the ACC, Georgia fans won't care.

Most Georgia fans were done with CMR's failures to win the SEC-E, horrible big game performances. strange losses, bad coaching hires and crappy play calling.
The Richt die hards (most of them don't know much about College Football) might groan and moan some but that's will be it.

I am sure CMR will be able to keep/make them competitive in the ACC.
I don't think he will get them to a National Championship.
The U is a football oddity compared to other programs in the state of FL.
Richt is no Jimmy Johnson or Howard S.

People won't be saying "It's the ACC so we don't care" when Richt signs all those Florida athletes and starts kicking people's asses.

Exactly.  I think Georgia just takes it for granted that the next coach will be able to recruit like Richt yet be a better play-caller.  But there are programs with a lot better pedigree going after the same recruits Georgia gets.

I want to whiners to explain this one. The Big 12 wants a Championship game and the Big 10 is trying to block it.

The Big 10 evidently demands divisions over all the teams playing each other.

So no more complaining about it if they can't do it.

http://texas.247sports.com/Bolt/Big-Ten-amendment-could-block-Big-12-title-game-41820715

The Big 12 conference hoped a January vote at the NCAA convention would open the door for the 10-team league to have a conference championship game in football, but an amendment submitted by the Big Ten could block that plan.

Conferences currently have to have at least 12 teams and two divisions in order to host a conference championship game, and Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby and ACC commissioner John Swafford submitted a proposal to eliminate those restrictions.

Not so fast my friend, said Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany. He told ESPN he doesn't think the Big 12 should have to expand to hold a title game, but he wants to know what the league's procedure will be for determining the participants and how deregulation might impact other conference structures - like the ACC.

The Big Ten's amendment indicates it's OK with having fewer than 12 teams, but divisions is a must.

Somehow, someway...this is all the SECs fault.  I just know it.

All the B1G commissioner did was ask for a clear rule on how it is going to work.  Can you have divisions of 4, 3, 2?  There has to be some kind of rule.
