The interesting thing, it can be used as a gauge point for two years from now. Aside from the obvious storyline, this is essentially T=0. Then when we open 2017 playing each other it'll be T=2. Who made more progress in that time? Now we'll have a direct comparison point for gauging progress. |

Looks like B1G has 9 teams in bowls, plus the 'playoff.' Looking at the matchups, I think they mostly look favorable. Although I must disregard any team with a losing record - I'm looking at you, Huskers and Gophers. Excluding those pretenders, I think B1G will have a good record in the bowls. This is a better year for several of the teams (not including my Badgers ).
Why can NCAA not exert some control and restrict the number of bowls, so only teams with a winning record get in? No more .500 teams, please. Why make Nebraska suffer any more than they already have this season? |

Will fucking Muschamp He has now surpassed Kiffin as the "failing up" champion WTF is USC thinking? It's South Carolina. Isn't that where former UF coaches are suppose to go. Monk lol That is great. Muschamp will do fine. Florida was doing pretty well this year with Muschamp's team, (that he put together) until the QB got banned. If you can't commit to 5 years of on-field product with a HC, don't hire him. You might not can live with off field problems for the whole 5 years, but a coach in today's world needs time. It is too competitive. Think about the recruits. They do the hat dance at all-star events to announce where they are going to school. Texas was in such disarray that players weren't even playing hard. Literally they stood around and didn't even try to make tackles. You can't change that in a year if that is what you inherited. Players who don't try hard on the field, think about what they do in the weight room and meeting rooms. If you inherit a team with issues so deep seeded that upperclassmen not only allow the underclassmen to do it, but are also offenders, it takes years to fix that in today's college football climate where everything is so ultra-competitive and teams are more willing than ever to take kids with discipline issues. That makes the talent pool larger but makes it even harder stay at the top and have a program the alums want to support without having a full cycle of "your guys". |

View Quote If Richt turns Miami into a contender and Fuente can do it to VT, the days of people crying about the ACC being weak will be over. Their only problem is too many teams that will never be great, but the top is for real and can be a good as it gets. If ND is finally forced into a conference, it will be the ACC. They are probably going to not get into the playoffs unless they are undefeated and might need to be the undisputed number 1 without being a conference champion under the current playoff selection process. I"m sure they realize that now. FSU, Miami, Clemson, VT and if you add ND and you have 4 or 5 teams that could be perennial Top 20 teams. Take GT, Louisville, Duke, UNC that could all occasionally throw out a 10 win season and add a couple more that could be ranked every year. Then you have Pitt, BC and NC St who could spoil a season for anyone. People won't be saying "It's the ACC so we don't care" when Richt signs all those Florida athletes and starts kicking people's asses. Without Bama, people could easily be saying "it's just the SEC". |

I want to whiners to explain this one. The Big 12 wants a Championship game and the Big 10 is trying to block it.
The Big 10 evidently demands divisions over all the teams playing each other. So no more complaining about it if they can't do it. http://texas.247sports.com/Bolt/Big-Ten-amendment-could-block-Big-12-title-game-41820715 The Big 12 conference hoped a January vote at the NCAA convention would open the door for the 10-team league to have a conference championship game in football, but an amendment submitted by the Big Ten could block that plan.
Conferences currently have to have at least 12 teams and two divisions in order to host a conference championship game, and Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby and ACC commissioner John Swafford submitted a proposal to eliminate those restrictions. Not so fast my friend, said Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany. He told ESPN he doesn't think the Big 12 should have to expand to hold a title game, but he wants to know what the league's procedure will be for determining the participants and how deregulation might impact other conference structures - like the ACC. The Big Ten's amendment indicates it's OK with having fewer than 12 teams, but divisions is a must. View Quote |
