Are we down to just Saban and Dabo for active coaches who have won a Natty? Les Miles I suppose.

I'm certainly pulling for Lawrence to win it, but I can't consider him the favorite.  The voters always seem to like the video game numbers.  Every QB that won it in recent memory puts up around 5000 total yards and 50 total touchdowns.  Between him rarely playing in the second half and how good our running backs are I don't expect him to have numbers like that.

I suspect the bulk of the blame falls on the Conference Leadership and perhaps the Cable Networks.

No worries I didn't think you were hating! I figure ACCN was basically using the defending champs home opener to extort all of the carriers and Dish doesn't have the deep pockets like DirecTV has. They came to an agreement about an hour before kickoff or so I think? Worst part is folks scrambling to streaming services to catch the #1 team in the country. Strange times for TV.

Voters always neglect how much Dabo subs for the stars too. Deshaun would've been a lock instead of the cat from Whoville but Dabo was smart enough to keep him fresh and not dinged up for a Natty run.

Jesus the backfield is deep there is NO doubt why Feaster bailed.

You wouldn’t know it listening to the announcers. They’re practically fellating Minnesota’s 400 lb RT. Nevermind the fact that he moves like a sack of mouldering potatoes.

Run game looks .

The freshman backup QB has one hell of an arm.  Hopefully he can pick up the offense and learn the he doesn’t need to throw fastballs every time.

“I’m a real boy” Central Florida opens the season against a horrible FCS team.

Other teams in the AAC open against P5:

Cincinnati vs UCLA
USF vs Wisconsin
Tulsa vs Michigan St
ECU vs NC State
Memphis vs Ole miss
Houston vs Oklahoma

But they won a “national championship.”

Defense looked really good.
Secondary with 4 interceptions when they only had 7 all last year was encouraging.
Only allowed 8 rushing yards.

I don’t think the o-line did quite as bad as many people are saying.
Mond was never sacked and Texas St had no tackles for loss.
Corbin and Spiller each rushed for over 100 yards and the average rush was for 6.83 yards.

Those were very vanilla offensive and defensive schemes last night so as not to give Clemson much to look at.

Next week everything will come out of the toolbox and we will really see what that team is made of.

lol u serious? Everyone needs a cupcake game. What does it being the 'opener' have to do with anything? 60% of P5 teams opened with terrible G5 or FCS teams this weekend...

We have Stanford on Sept 18

Can't schedule P5 teams when they wont do it!

Agree he got knocked down a few times but no sacks, no tfls says something.
If the oline is that weak it will dam sure be apparent next week. Fortunately they have a week to assess what they didn’t do well and work on fixing it.

Ags allowed 35 sacks last year and 89 tackles for loss. That was horrendous and ranked #106 and #110 in the nation.
Yeah it was Texas St but they actually have 1 of the most experienced teams returning this year with 19 starters back so not allowing any sacks or tfls was pretty dam good IMO.
