Local play by play guys for each team would be way better for most games I was working outside during the bama/Texas game listening to the bama broadcast. Insufferable to listen to the whining about officiating Eli Gold is out on medical leave, so the broadcaster filling in isn’t exactly a first stringer. They have been pretty bad this year in the games I’ve listened to. |

Unless I’m reading the explanation of the tweet incorrectly Of course, I’m being a bit pedantic so… no, youre right. they assumed for that bracket. it was a valid point on one hand - yes they still get in so CCG arent as important for those teams (this year under these circumstances) on the other hand - if they lost this weekend they'd also lose a chance at a bye in week 1, so this week's games still have value even for these |

Quoted: How do you guys feel about that? I think he will do well there View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: News is reporting that former NFL QB and Super Bowl champion Trent Dilfer will be UAB’s next head football coach. How do you guys feel about that? I think he will do well there We’ll see. He’s coached for 4 seasons at a catholic school in Tennessee and they’re playing for a state championship tomorrow. I’m hoping that his play calling is less one-dimensional, we’ve been lucky with some awesome running backs and one or two good receivers a year. We haven’t always overcome defenses stacking the box against the run. I have a feeling his analysis of our opponents will be pretty good leading to a good game plan. |

Former Huskers' interim head football coach Mickey Joseph was arrested by LPD on Wednesday.
Around 2 p.m. Wednesday, LPD officers were dispatched to a residence near South 34th and Tree Line Drive on a domestic disturbance. Upon concluding the investigation, Robert ‘Mickey’ Joseph, age 54 of Lincoln, was arrested at a separate location on charges of strangulation and third degree domestic assault. University of Nebraska Athletic Director Trev Alberts released the following statement regarding Joseph's arrest: “I was made aware of the charges against Coach Joseph and given the nature of the allegations and based on University policy he has been placed on administrative leave. We will have no additional comment at this time.” I guess he just lost a potential assistant coaching job at UNL. https://nebraska.tv/news/local/former-huskers-interim-head-football-coach-arrested-by-lpd https://twitter.com/search?q=mickey+joseph+arrested |

This year that would most likely be Georgia Michigan TCU USC Clemson OSU Alabama Tennessee |

Quoted: Preseason View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Yall really ain't gonna like the 12 team playoffs they are gonna be doing these brackets from preseason till the end.... Preseason Sports media driven. Got to have a starting point. IMO, the final season poll should be the previous season’s final poll. It all works itself out in the end. Teams losing talent will get beat, up and coming teams will rise in the polls. Sports media grads, typically the bottom of journalism grads are living under a bridge if they can’t manufacture material for their target audience. Get rid of preseason polls and sports media will bitch about that. Anything that gives them writing material and talking points is more important than the sport they are supposedly supporting. Preseason polls are the devil now, but get rid of them and they will be the savior of college football after they’re gone. Just like a four team playoff would be the magic bullet after sports media didn’t get the matchup they wanted one year. As soon as they got a four team playoff, they immediately bitched about needing more teams involved, even though there’s been at least one blowout every year since this whole playoff bullshit got sold to the powers that be by ESPN. Fans buy into this horse shit screaming about conference champions only when one conference champion might be a top two team and another team that wasn’t might be one of the best two as well. It’s supposed to be about matching the best teams together until fanbases who weren’t in the best team category whined. Georgia fans were fans of this last year, weren’t they? All of a sudden this fanbase changed their mind to suit their purpose. Conference championships didn’t matter when you got embarrassed in the game. redfish, hunt killer and brundog, no need to respond, only intelligent posters, please. |

Quoted: TCU is a lock regardless of the outcome Saturday. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Ohio State hopes you’re right. That’s the first domino. The second is TCU on Saturday. Then let’s see what the committee decides. TCU is a lock regardless of the outcome Saturday. I watched them get bumped in 2014 from #3 to #6 after winning their final game 55-3. I know the Big12 didn’t have a conference championship game that year but that’s an example of how unjust things can be. It was also said to be a message about not having a conference championship game and why the Big12 adopted one after that happened. Funny thing is we’ve seen several teams make the playoffs that didn’t participate in their conference championship games. So that IMO pokes a hole in that. Irony in this current situation is it was Ohio State then too that benefited from that. |
