If A&M didn't lay an egg last week and made the game more interesting for the national viewership then they wouldn't be religated to 9pm as it would have been picked up by CBS for the prime SEC 2:30pm slot.

@WDEagle - lol still haven’t forgiven me?

You have to admit though - 3 of the 5 games I recommended went to overtime.

On another note - is it just me or does it seem there are an inordinate amount of OT games so far this year? Sure not complaining about that. Just seems like more than normal.

Here’s some games with potential

Purdue vs Syracuse
Washington vs Michigan St
Penn St vs Auburn
Miss St vs LSU
Kansas vs Houston
lol yeah Kansas…..2-0 Kansas…..are they for real? I can’t believe the over / under is sitting mid 50s. Kansas has scored over 50 both games and Houston is giving up on average 34 while scoring 33.
Looks like a track meet on paper. Probably why it won’t be. Bold prediction - Put Houston on upset alert.

TTU defense held U of H to 13 offensive points in regulation plus pick 6 by UH defense.  5OTs to get those point averages by them good but not dominating on offense they do have a solid defense

KU has a solid coach doing a good job

You are correct.  However until 2024 CBS owns the 1st tier SEC media rights.  And as such the Monday before the game CBS chooses the best SEC game of the week as their broadcast (which is always 2:30pm CST).  So if A&M would have won last week, it would have been #6 A&M vs #13 Miami.  Far and away the best game of the week that everyone would have wanted to see, so CBS would have taken the games rights and A&M's kickoff would have been moved to 2:30pm to accomodate.  And Auburn vs Penn State would have be broadcast on ESPN at whatever time slot ESPN wanted to fit them into.

If Washington beats MSU, they could run the table.

Their schedule really sets them up for success.

Penix has looked sharp so far but it's a big step up this week.

TexAgs Film Room breakdown with Stephen McGee (former A&M QB)

https://texags.com/s/47199/the-film-room-appalachian-state-17-texas-am-14/5

Summary
O line sucks...major issue.  Out of position, bad pad level, not double teaming up to LB properly etc....
Hopefully getting the starting center back helps some how..

QB...makes right reads usually, but often too slow getting the ball out or is off target.  Piss poor foot work (too big of steps...for example)

A single player blowing an assignment completely blowing up a play (WR not blocking right guy on screen for example).

That is what texas does best.  Looks really good one week and then ends up 6-7 for the season.

But, the last decade was all about the rest of the teams saying, "...at least we ain't texas."  Now they will say, "...at least we ain't aTm"

They have 1st tier for SEC vs SEC games.

From a ratings standpoint, don't you think they would have wanted sip/Bama last week?

The game was on Fox.

You think it should be higher or lower? Miss State being favored by 2.5 points seems about right to me based on what I've seen so far.

Speaking of Miss State: we're going to see what kind of team they are next month.  In October they play 4 games.  All against currently ranked teams and 3 of the 4 are in the top 10.  If it wasn't for A&M shitting the bed against App State ALL 4 would be in the top 10.

He was supposedly feeling A lot better the day after and they don’t think the sprain is as bad as they originally thought. So, maybe 2-3 weeks on the optimistic side.

October & November are always interesting in the SEC.

Here’s A&Ms schedule. So if Mississippi St breaks into the Top25 there’s a possibility A&M will play 6 of 7 games in a row vs Top25 teams. You could pull up any SEC schedule and many will look like that.

Shitty footwork?  Dude got so frazzled he couldn't hand off the ball to his 3yr starter RB and caused a fumble.  When a QB can't execute a handoff there's bigger problems than the intricacies of his footwork.

After watching that play in the Film Room...I'm not 100% sure that one was his fault.  The guard and tackle were combo blocking the DT up to LB and they both completely missed the LB.... I think King was trying to pull it (albeit likely late) and the RB wouldn't let it slip out..

Question: What does losing to App St have to do with the remainder of the A&M schedule and how the average SEC schedule normally looks in October and November?

Answer: It has nothing to do with it Mr. Nailcrusher. That poster is just being a smartass.

Some guys are practice players and some game players.
Max played quite well at LSU last year against a full SEC schedule. He’s surrounded by better talent this year so hopefully that will translate into even better play. Plus they always say the biggest jump in improvement with most players is between years 1 and 2. I’d wager he’s going to start.

The App St loss was too big a deal at this point in Jimbos program. That and folks constantly screaming to let someone else call the plays. I don’t see him letting play calling go as easily as starting a new QB. If he does neither and doesn’t beat Miami it’s going to get ugly.

After watching that play in the Film Room...I'm not 100% sure that one was his fault.  The guard and tackle were combo blocking the DT up to LB and they both completely missed the LB.... I think King was trying to pull it (albeit likely late) and the RB wouldn't let it slip out..

After seeing the breakdown of King....I think I would start Max.  Maybe King practices better, but he has shitty footwork in the game.

We need someone that makes a quick decision and doesn't double or triple clutch the ball.

Shitty footwork?  Dude got so frazzled he couldn't hand off the ball to his 3yr starter RB and caused a fumble.  When a QB can't execute a handoff there's bigger problems than the intricacies of his footwork.

I read somewhere that Achane wasn’t supposed to take that ball. Might not be Kings fault.
