The 920 frame is awesome. Feels great and has a texture like a really well stippled glock. I started this build with a P80 frame and wanted a gen4 mag release. Picked up an mr918 frame and I think its pretty much done. I had something like 5k through it in p80 form and about 1k through it since then on the same guts and upper. Has been reliable. The 19MOS is a fine gun on it's own and this was more an exercise in learning about the how each part works and assembling like you would an AR build. But the standard 920 is priced well for the features you're getting, namely stippling and RMR cut. I dont think ita get the elite or any models with slides with full ports. I just dont like the idea of things potentially getting in there. I also dont like the MOS system stock plates, upgrade the plate if you go that route-- I have seen them break

Quoted: That is not the point he is making. You sink a lot of money into a pistol on the premise you know if you use it a chance exist you are not getting it back vs using a duty Glock that is just as deadly and just as useful that cost 1/4 of the price. I am not going to carry a custom 1911 of mine or one of my fully tricked out CZ pistols because on the off chance I am involved in a shooting for my life it is not going to make me some super grand master John Wick killer but I could be out 2K+ if I am never able to get the pistol back or it gets lost in an evidence locker. As someone said earlier, Shadow will replace it if used in a justified shooting. Also it’s around $800-900 with night sights and optic cut, so not that much more than a regular Glock you would buy. If you are forced to use your Shadow Systems pistol in a self-defense situation in the United States, you will likely lose possession of your pistol to the authorities. IfyouruseofyourShadowSystems pistol is deemed legally justified, Shadow Systems will replace your pistol free of charge |

A stock Glock needs nothing but suppressor sights, a reliable non MOS’d red dot, and a little trigger work to become fantastic.

I have a Shadow Systems barrel in one of my guns. It's very accurate.
I'd buy one of their factory pistols. |

more mods = less reliable on glocks.
i value reliability highly from an EDC gun. |

Get the MR920 and don't look back. I've carried a Glock 27 for 20+ years and looked at it as just a tool. Picked up a MR920 recently and just really enjoy the gun much more than it being just a tool. It's like the difference in a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Jeep Trackhawk.

View Quote Because the 19x is fucking stupid. I can remove the mag well on this and go back to short 19 mags. And this carries just fine, either AIWB (not often, to be honest) or 3 o'clock. It's all in the cant of the holster forward to make it disappear under a polo. |

I go with pretty close to stock
19.5 MOS OEM (-) connector RM06 XC1B GL-429s All of my other Glock 19s get the (-) connector, light, night sights and an OEM trigger bar with smooth face shoe. Attached File |

Tbh I’d rather live my life than worry about those scenarios. I’m not sure if I’ll get the mr920 yet, but this isn’t a concern of mine. It’s either justified or not at the end of the day. IMO that’s kind of like saying only use a Colt AR for self defense, because a Geissele rifle might get you in trouble. |

I think the newer Walthers are superior to Glocks. Thinner, better triggers, better grip shape, don’t drop brass on top of your head or into your face, more accurate (for me anyway) and cheaper.

If you want a Gucci Glock that actually was built for shooters, go over to Boresight Solutions and get one of them. Those motherfuckers are the best.

stock glock. add vickers controls and some suppressor heights and and roll out.
actually use it and your odds of seeing gucci glokk again are very slim. the street robbery tactics and you thread covers this. |

Who cares what others think. Carry what you want. My carry rotation includes a g19 with RMR, tlr 7a and Overwatch Tac Trigger. That’s about as “Gucci” as I get.

I love my oz9 Glock 35 with 9mm barrel. I also love my Glock 17 with 19 length grip and timney trigger. But I trust my life to my stock gen 4 Glock 21 with upgraded sights and grip reduction being the only change made to it. I have put a lot of rounds through the 35 in both .40 and 9mm and I’m confident in its reliability and have carried it on duty but the amount of money tied up into it could buy a stock Glock, upgraded sights, and a lot of ammo to practice. But if you have stock glocks already, get a oz9 is my vote. Once I put enough rounds through the 17 and timney it could become my edc. |

If it is for carry, don't alter the pistol.
If you do not believe Glock spent millions and millions of dollars in R&D to produce the most accurate, yet reliable pistol on the planet, then you should turn it inside out with ZEV and Grey Ghost bullshit. The trigger squeeze weight is perfect for the pistol as it comes from the factory. Can it be lightened? Absolutely. At the expense of reliability? You bet. |

Do what you like. Personally I wouldn't carry a gun with slide cuts IWB (or at all, really). A factory Glock milled for a red dot and a Surefire will get the job done.

I was at an active shooter trainer class a few years back with a guy from another agency, who was telling us in our down time about his gold-plated special Glock with this and that and the other thing. I don't remember what all he said that he had on it. I do distinctly remember that he said that it had the gold barrel thingy.
During his diatribe, I had the temerity to ask something to the effect of, "What does all that do to make it work better?" and I was met with this response, "Well, if you knew what you were doing, you'd know it's better!" I don't mind admitting that this guy's response has pretty much flavored how I've felt about these custom jobs ever since. I may be wrong, but I've yet to have somebody explain things to me any better than he did. |

I may be wrong, but I've yet to have somebody explain things to me any better than he did. View Quote Sounds like that guy is better at bravado more than he is explaining. I don’t care for the upgraded barrel. I’m fine with the stock. I also don’t know how I feel about the TiCN. I’m not a metallurgist so I don’t know what that may mean after x amount of rounds or certain exposure to whatever. So if I went MR920, I’d probably be tempted towards the black nitride due to my ignorance. That said, I definitely see the appeal to increased ergonomics, decreased weight, better trigger, milled slide, flared magwell, grip angle, and so on. To buy all that separately would cost more than just buying a Shadow outright and take a lot longer. Will a Shadow make a bad shooter good? No. That’s not what interests me. Training is required no matter how much you spend on your gun. I guess it’s like the difference in buying a standard Colt vs custom AR. Either will serve you well. One is more enjoyable. Take this with a grain of salt as this is only how I understand things without actually being able to shoot one personally. |
