I halfway expect them to send to the teacher to training on "Showing respect within Black Urban Culture" so she doesn't make the mistake of disrespecting these young ladies again in the future.

As a school resource officer, I'd be arresting those students for felony battery, not waiting on the state's attorney to make up their mind. Don't need a warrant for a felony.

I knew a white teacher in a city. There was a 5th grade boy that grabbed her ass every day. I don't mean playfully, she said it was more like what her husband would do.
The school wouldn't do anything, most likely because he was black. Once the other kids realized he wasn't getting in trouble, they all started doing it, and she eventually had to quit and was basically told tough shit. |

The biggest factor seems to be administrators that don’t hold students accountable. Districts get lazy and don’t punish the students. Even worse if a student has an IEP and has hit their 10 days of suspension, then too bad, get back to class. Usually the student has been mostly terrorizing other students. But little Johnny has a right to an education. Unfortunately no one cares about the fellow students and staffs rights to not get hurt. |

The whole "hands off" regarding teachers has gotten so out of hand. Hope there is a pushback in the future. Teacher's should be able to defend themselves without fear of repercussions.
Just sucks because you would think other students would get involved knowing their teacher is defenseless...but nowadays every scene is just the kids whipping out their cell phones to document it while egging their classmates on. |

As another poster mentioned, Baltimore teachers are assaulted at a rate of 4 per day. Out of 16 high schools in B-more, 0 read or write at grade level, or even close.
