We love the two Odysseys we’ve had and you might find one 5 years old in your price range. We just picked up a 2018 Touring and it is very nice.

They are awesome!
Would have one now but it was not in the used car cards when I was looking to replace the old one. I have a 13 and 16 year old, and would still be driving a mini van! They rock. Had an Odyssey (had 200K plaus on it when it died) - to me you either buy that or a Sienna as your only choices. |

My wife has a 2011 Toyota Sienna AWD.
Because the AWD system takes up the space where the spare tire would normally be, the van comes equipped from the factory with run-flat tires. Of course you can run normal tires but again .... you have no spare. It's not a huge deal but run-flat tires tend to run well past $200 per tire ...and if one tire goes ... you only have two options because of the AWD system. Option number one is you replace all four tires. Option number two is you buy a brand new tire from Tire Rack and have them shave it down to match the tread depth remaining on the other three tires. With children.... if you do not get the DVD Entertainment System.... you are doing it wrong. That particular feature is an absolute must if you do not own a portable means of movie watching for the kids. |

We had two minivans, a 2005 Kia Sedona, bought new, sold it five years later with 105k and replaced it with a 2000 Dodge Caravan with a rebuilt title and 120k. The Dodge was one of the most reliable and useful vehicles I have ever owned. It was hot and totalled several years later with over 200k on it. It was rear-ended by a Chevy truck doing 60. Broke all the glass in the rear, twisted the frame enough the front doors opened but wouldn't close, the passenger side rear wheel ended up three lanes over (brake, hub and mounting plate with it). My wife and kids walked away with nothing but some minor scratches from the broken glass. Guy driving the Chevy truck ended up in ICU.
I would buy another Chrysler Minivan in a heartbeat. |

We just retired our Honda Odyssey.
AC and motor mount issues. Repetitively. Side door motor issues. If I needed one today I would get the Toyota. Honda, in my opinion, has had quality issues for a few years. I just posted this in the Honda v. Traverse |

Odyssey or Sienna. Both are good ones. We've had both and we prefer the Odyssey. We would probably still have the Sienna if it didn't get totaled by some guy running a stop sign. Luckily the van did it's job and kept my wife and kids safe. Just small glass cuts and my wife was sore for a couple weeks.

The Odyssey used to be the king of the hill of minivans. These days, I think it is the Sienna. American makes rust faster, but that might be a lower concern where OP is located.

We're on our second Town and Country. First was a '96 purchased in 2000, the current one an '06 acquired in 2012'
They've both been very reliable, but on the newer one, the rear condenser has shit the bed twice now due to bad design. My kids are grown now so I capped the front lines off, evacuated and recharged with Freon. The stow and go seats are tits. I can fit a fuck ton of guns in that thing  The 96 went for 240 some odd thousand miles. This one has over 150K |

Nothing says bad ass like a middle aged father driving down the road in a mini van listening to Die MF Die in an Odyssey.
Ask me how I know... They are perfect for what they are, tho, which is a family hauler. The sliding doors go perfectly with small kids and there is plenty of room to carry shit if you need to. That being said, my wife has been eying some SUVs now and I don’t blame her. We will hold on to the van for a while longer, though. |

Odyssey or Sienna. Best choices.
VW has the Routan but stopped making in 2013. Nice but dated now. Chryler is ALOT more cramped on inside for same exterior size. It's nice but just not as roomy. Currently have AWD Sienna with all the extras. Nice ride. There was a price difference between the Honda and Toyota new. A few $ with the Honda being more. Around here, it's slightly more popular. I just didn't like the styling inside quite as much. They were going to some sort of bastardized Star Trek Enterprise swooping dash crap that was ugly. Thus, Sienna it was. Replaced a Routan that saved wife and son from a t-bone that totaled it. |

I have a 2006 Toyota Sienna, it's fucking incredible. Most reliable vehicle I've ever owned, although it's had some problems with the front wheel bearings. But that may be due to the fact that I drive the hell out of it and even use it to tow other cars despite being a FWD.

Had a Caravan and currently a Town and Country. Love 'em both. We ditched the Caravan after 200k miles and got the T&C, it has 115k miles with normal maintenance. About 15 years ownership between the two.
We're going to look a the Pacificas today at the auto show. Time for an upgrade.

Had a Mazda 5. It will seat 6 and it zips along with its 4 banger. I took the 3 kids out to Yellowstone in that thing. Loaded the back to the ceiling and a rooftop luggage xcargo clan shell. Averaged 38mpg

We always got minivans when we went TAD for dets and such. Loved doing donuts with both sliding doors open. Unbelievably spacious and practical. But still, it’s not worth the fact that you still drive a minivan, just screams “I gave up on life”.

Been rolling in my 2011 Grand Caravan, bought used with 28K miles. Now has 148, still going strong. Routine maintenance, no issues. It's pretty much outlived it's usefulness for me, but I'll drive it till it's last breath.
Also, driving a minivan is like driving a cloaked, stealth vehicle. You are invisible. |

The average basic bitch suburban soccer mom drives a Yukon/Denali/Tahoe/Suburban these days. So the stereotype minivans once had is gone in my mind. |
