I want a longhorn skull (European mount) to hang up in my barn. A short amount of googling showed prices that made me laugh.
What should a skull/horn mount cost? |
|
None of us know.
Longhorn mounts in Texas are sold to out of state faggots and sailors named Francis. So, the price is whatever the homo has in his purse. |

If you want a real longhorn, you're gonna pay for it.
Hipsters will probably pay more for the skull and horns than the rancher made on the beef. |

What the hell is this and what does it do? I never saw anything like this in Texas when I lived there in the 1990s. Maybe I was too young?

I bought a mounted one, about 7 feet from one end to the other, for about $100 at an auction one time.
edit...no skull, just the horns |
|
|
So taxidermy work to clean and bleach the skull will generally run $150-$400.

I’ll sell you this one but you have to take her on the hoof

They sell them on the side of the road on hwy 6 outside Calvert. Big thing in Fort Worth and the Hill Country in homes.

Horns are available only to those who bolt them to the front of their white Cadillac.

Dude. You've got a barn. Buy a longhorn, raise it, kill it, eat it, hang up it's horns.

I had the idea of breeding minature longhorns once. Sell them to every UT grad that has 2 acres so he can have a mini Bevo. Would have retired rich I'm telling you.
Double rich if I could have bred them to come out burnt orange 100%. |

Longhorns are an expensive breed.
Skull mounts are expensive as well. Many animals have damaged horns thanks to size and the ornery nature of the beast. All of them I have seen are sporting price tags not for the faint of heart. |

I had a Longhorn on my place years ago. When he died of old age I used a chainsaw to remove his head, easier than an axe, and paid $50 for a box of beetles. Put skinned head and beetles in a box for about 3 weeks then boiled skull. Hung skull in living room of ranch house.
