The drummer for this band actually lives in Nashville, and owns a store.

Where the fuck else am I going to find my special cookies, especially while his older, white patrons are shopping for honey and knick-nacks?

Not my pictures but I had a 1972 H2 and later a 1975 Z1B in these colors.  At the time these were fast bikes with poor handling, tires, and brakes.  A lot of fun especially the Z1 when it would push the front tire in medium speed turns and weave from chassis flex in fast sweepers.  The H2 refused to keep the front wheel on the ground.  Good memories.

I was only alive for a year of the decade, but I'm 99% certain that pretty much nobody actually wore that shit. They had cameras back then. It's not hard to find pictures (and video!) of "normal" everyday people, just being normal.

Those Schwinn "crate" models (Orange Crate, Apple Crate, Pea Picker, Cotton Picker) go for crazy money now. I had a Cotton Picker, which I intentionally left behind at a rental house when I moved after college.

While I appreciate music from other decades, the 70s and 80s were awesome. I still listen to Hair Nation on XM Radio. Just did tonight in fact.

Late-‘80s, I ~almost~ bought a ‘68 L68 (400 horsepower 427, single 4bbl)... couldn’t scrape up enough cash at the time.  $4000 IIRC

If I had, there’s a good chance I’d have been dead shortly thereafter

The 70s.  My school years.

The Nixon, Ford and Carter.  The misery index.  Carter's fireside chat on energy and that damned sweater.

Oil Embargo, gas lines, gas rationing, yada yada yada...

Last Apollo Moon mission, Skylab, Apollo-Soyuz linkup.

Munich Massacre

End of the Vietnam War

The Mayaguez Incident

Operation Thunderbolt

Bank robberies, murders, kidnappings and bombings by domestic terrorist shitheads.

Stingray style bikes with racing slick back tires, ape hangers and banana seats.

Econoboxes like the Pacer, Gremlin and Pinto.  Land yachts like the Lincoln Town Car or Cadillac El Dorado.  Stationwagons with fake woody panels.  "Hybrids" like the Ranchero and El Camino. 'Cudas, Road Runners, 'Stangs and Trans Ams.  The F Series and the Twin I Beam suspension, Power Wagons, Jeeps and C10s - and flareside pickups.  Customized vans with side murals and moon windows aka shaggin' wagons.

8 Track.

Disco.

Polyester.  Polyester everywhere.

Leisure Suits.

Bell bottom pants and jeans.

Ditto Jeans and halter tops on the women.

Animal House, Mad Max, Star Wars...

And a whole bunch of other stuff I'm not 'membering right now.

edit - fumblefinger fix
