I'm 57 years old and this movie still makes me smile.

One of my favorites as a kid, and still today.
The Goonies and The Last Starfighter are two movies I watch at least twice a year. |
|
I’m 52 and never got the the cult following of this flick. I guess I’ll check it again,

"I'm gonna hit you so hard when you wake up your clothes will be out of style"
And I always wondered what the hell "pinchers of pal" meant until I found out it was "pinchers of peril" |

"But the worst thing I ever done - I mixed a pot of fake puke at home and then I went to this movie theater, hid the puke in my jacket, climbed up to the balcony and then, t-t-then, I made a noise like this: hua-hua-hua-huaaaaaaa - and then I dumped it over the side, all over the people in the audience. And then, this was horrible, all the people started getting sick and throwing up all over each other. I never felt so bad in my entire life."

One of my favorites. I was the perfect age when it came out.
"I'm Captain Chunk. And Captain Chunk says, let's get the hell outta here!" |

I went on a field trip in grade school to see that movie at a historical theater before it was torn down.

ORV...bullet holes... Chunk: Michael Jackson didn't come over to my house to use the bathroom... but his sister did. |

I remember the WWF and that whats her face singer tried to use the movie as a tie in with "Rock and Wrestle". I guess she did some of the music in the movie? Never paid attention to the music.
WWF was trying too hard then. Should have stuck to the fake wrestling schtick. |

It's neat for the local connection, but otherwise to me it's just 90 minutes of children screaming.

Great movie that came out when I was 9. (Same director as Lethal Weapon.) We took the kids to see it at the drive-in last summer.
I've been watching 80s movies every weekend with my 12 year old daughter since Christmas when we watched Die Hard. Its actually been great bonding time. So far we've watched Red Dawn, Stand by Me, First Blood, Terminator, etc. It has made me very nostalgic and appreciative of how I got to grow up in the 80s. Also makes me hate Commies that much more. |
