The Rock made $64.5 million in 2016. He recently made a huge deal about donating $25,000 to the flood victims in Texas.
Let put this into perspective. $25,000 of $64.5 million is 0.04%. If an average person is making $60,000 per year, that is equivalent to them donating $23. A whole $23. Literally the size of a good eat out meal. I get donating but why brag about it? What a joke. http://www.tmz.com/2017/08/29/the-rock-kevin-hart-hurricane-harvey-relief-fund-donation/ |

25000 is a lot of money. You don't know what other charitable issues he gives to.

Never liked the guy!
and think he is a movie killer! Meaning just about every movie he is in, is guaranteed to suck bad! but its his money to do with as he pleases! |
|
Well by all means feel free to put your money where your mouth is and donate more.

The Rock is kind of a jerk.
I saw him out once, and if you can believe this, he refused to be my cosigner on an Auto Loan. |

JJ Watt put in $100,000 of his own money, and one of the other Houston players gave $50,000.
JJ Watt makes a lot of money, but not in the Duane Johnson realm. |

Let's not turn this into pissing contest but OP has a point BUT Dwayne does a lot more than other celebs that are out spoken libtards. I can't drop $25K on charity so good on him.

After Katrina the media made a big deal out of Oprah donating what amounted to pocket change for her to the victims of Katrina. They had recently run a story on how much Oprah made that year so I too did the math and figured out that she gave practically nothing.
|
|
So since he has more, he should give more?
Sounds a lot like the left's views on taxes. |
|
|
Dogging on a guy for donating tens of thousands of dollars to a charity.

Jesus, of all the things to get worked up about
Do you realize how much relief supplies 25k can buy? |
|
|
Let me guess.
You think the rich should also pay a higher tax percentage also do you?.... |
|
Maybe that's all he can afford because he parties the rest away.
|

|
what makes you think he's done giving?
what makes you think he won't help raise more money? |

At least you get it. Donate what you can, just don't brag about it. I cant stand people who brag about what they give. Let alone when it literally means nothing to you. Be humble and move on. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

In this thread I learn how much people love the POS liberal The Rock and dislike math. Definitely didn't go the way I planned.

The guy actually made a donation and you're hating on him for it because he makes a lot of money and you feel like it wasn't enough? Who the hell are you to determine the righteousness of a person? |
|
Potato-assed Kardashians are putting in $500k.
Unfortunately, all these celebs are donating to the Red Cross, so it's going down a big hole never to be seen again. |
|
who cares, he has no ties to Texas like JJ or Sandra do.
how much has Bill Gates,, Oprah, Hillary, or Barack donated? |

Do you hate the 1%, OP? Do you think they're greedy, undeserving fatcats? Do you feel like they're not paying their fair share? Do you feel like someone should make them start sharing it?
If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, you might be a jealous socialist. |

Personally, a man who donates a 5 figure check to people he doesn't know, to help out - isn't going to get a lot of judgement from me. It's about $24,650 more than I've donated so far.
That said, a man who then makes sure everyone knows he donated, gets a smile and a thank you - but also the understanding that his donation was an investment with expectations of return benefit. That's fine - thank you for the investment, it's helpful - you're a good guy, we can be friends. But yea, you're a good guy who wants everybody to know it. OK. |

What makes you think he's a liberal, the same logic that makes you criticize his financial decisions?
