Do people here literally expect him to give all of his wealth to charity?

Seems to be in response to Kevin Hart calling out to others to match his 25k.

GD hates it apparently, but I presume the people who benefit from it will be appreciative.

So you would rather have 1000 people give a buck if they were broke than have 25k from a rich person since the 1k equals "more" of their income?.   Stop bitching because someone else gave money.  Be happy they did.  Plenty don't.

Years ago during Tsunami fund raising Micheal Shumcher donated $10 million. There were countries that did not donated that much.  The other side is he was making $80 million a year.

Not that explaining it will make this better, but it annoyed me when he basically bragged about giving so little.  I really don't give two fucks about how much anyone gives mainly because I don't ever brag about what I give.  To me donating and volunteering is a very personal thing.  I guess many here have no issue with it given that $25,000 is a lot of money to them.  Therefore they care more about the thought that he gave then him bragging about it.  I get it, I am probably in the wrong for posting what I did but cant fix it now.

The Rock made $64.5 million in 2016.  He recently made a huge deal about donating $25,000 to the flood victims in Texas.

Let put this into perspective.  $25,000 of $64.5 million is 0.04%.  If an average person is making $60,000 per year, that is equivalent to them donating $23.  A whole $23.  Literally the size of a good eat out meal.

I get donating but why brag about it?

What a joke.

So what percentage of your income did you donate?

25k is a hell of a gift and it'll spend just like 25k from someone who made 100k this year.

Get off your high horse and let go of your envy.

This thread is a joke. A bad one.

I will believe it when I see it.  Guaranteed they are giving an appearance "worth" 500k or some other bullshit.  Most millionaires give to charity as a write off and giving it to the RC is not giving it to Texas specifically.

Now you're doing the math one of my roommates did when paid a marginal rate of 15%, like $2,000 in taxes or something, and was bitching that he paid more than the $4,000,000 Romney paid. He didn't understand effective vs marginal rate, so he was wrong either way, but same mentality. My $200 is more than his $25,000 because feelings!

$25,000 is half a car he could've bought that he donated to charity instead. Not the biggest thing ever, but good for him. The Rock probably pays $20,000,000 in taxes each year.

I haven't given any, I don't trust non-profits. I briefly worked at a CPA firm doing audits. One non-profit collected only enough one year to pay their administrators salaries. 0% program expenditures...awesome.

Maybe he's making a big deal about it to get other celebs off their asses to donate also.
There are hundreds if not thousands of entertainers and industry executives that could donate based on his lead and it become quite a sum of money.
