Ever try shaking the hand of a millennial?  It usually feels like grabbing a bag full of fresh dog shit.

People do it in LA.

I don't like it, preferin a standard hand shake.

Boomer, ok.

My coworkers fist bump a lot.

Normally I'd rather shake your hand but in the hospital I figure it's slightly more hygienic.

Shaking hands is gross.

I avoid it when I can.

Unfortunately, I meet a lot of people and have to do it pretty frequently.

When they go for a hug, go ahead and take it up a notch and kiss them on the cheek. You know you want to, op

More tough guy wolf talk.

I like the bro hugs. People are typically a little better to people than they used to be.

Sorry if black folks scare you

Nothing wrong with the bro hug, but it should probably be reserved for those who have met previously. It's almost always awkward when done during an initial introduction. Even if it's between folks who know one another, both parties have to know it's coming or it's going to be awkward.

LOL, never saw it until 7 or 8 years ago.
Black and millenial dads on my son's football team would always do it.
I avoided it.
I would sidestep, grab their hand and shake it.

Became a challenge for a few.
I made it the whole season.

Leaving the post season banquet, one spun me, and another brohugged me.
Against my will!

I still feel great shame.

Recently had an in law give me a bro hug as wife and I were preparing to leave after a visit with daughter and her family. He's a pretty reserved guy so I took it as a nice gesture.
Don't think Ive ever initiated a bro hug though, it wasn't a thing men did for most of my life.

Funny thing was, the guy who actually brohugged me was named Roger.
A black guy, from Chicago.
Named Roger...

Whitest back guy I've ever met....

You have to admit....that's pretty stupid though.

Paying money for jeans that already have holes in them.

That's like paying for a new car that already has rust on it.

I was raised, on my Mother's side, in a large Sicilian family. Men hug and kiss each other on the cheek.  The same for team mates. I hug my former team mates when we see each other.  Strangers? No, I'm not hugging a stranger.

Sometimes I start my bro hug out with a super firm handshake with friends that are squeamish. Once I have them in my king-fu grip that's when I pull them in to finish off with a bro hug with my left arm. They can't escape.

For whatever reason, the other day I had the thought "I wonder if the fag seat is still a thing?". When you went to a movie with your "bros" back in the day and you left that empty seat between you so people wouldn't think you were fags.

In my work environment, fist bumps are common because it's likely your hands are dirty.

One thought that just now occurs to me is that you would probably stand to shake someone's hand. To fist bump? Probably not.
